Hopefully by the end of the transfer window Hoppy will have his squad. Maybe not everybody’s choices,but under the circumstances good enough to keep us up. It’s down to the team and manager after the deadline,and the fans to get behind them.

I want to be happy, but I wasn’t sad when he left.

Just hope for us and for him he can have a positive impact for the rest of the season. Help us get to safety and get his career back on track.

I just feel there are still the same gaps we had before the window. We’ve lost a relatively ok back up CB, not out and out wingers or target man. All of which we all know are a gap in our squad.

Perhaps this signing is with one eye on next season?

Butterfield I’m really chuffed with. Just hopeful the next couple of hours may bring something??!

 

Doyle upfront on his own again?

Too negative from Hopkin if he is trying to win games,although they did play well on tues night making and taking chances.
A big target man would make a hell of a difference and if the team starts again with the long-ball tactics to Doyle like at home against southend?

I just can’t see Clarke starting. He needs to get up to speed with our new training regime first and foremost. Bench at best atm.

 

That would be very unfair if he did, but maybe Hopkin see's him playing the Akpan role ?.

 

The Clarke signing makes no sense at all. He’s a slow, injury prone footballer. After his knee injury he bottled tackle after tackle. After the way we were bullied by Southend, I’d have thought height as well as strength would’ve been near the top of the list of attributes.

 

Are we not still in't chuckatrade....?....bugger..

 

If so, likewise it would be very unfair on Akpan.

Not disappointed at Clarke coming back as it further strengthens the bench - but staggered we have not found a target man as DH has stated all window (and before it) he wants this option for an alternative game plan and apparently we had a list of options for this roll. Also really expected a strong centre back and a wide player based on what the club was saying but if we had achieved this we would have got our ideal wish list and this was never going to happen!
