It’s no coincidence he comes in and we keep a clean sheet.

It’s the hidden work off the ball people don’t see. His covering for others who got caught out and sitting in front of the back 4 offering them some much needed protection.

He is the type of player we won’t realise we miss until he is gone. Good start for him, not outstanding but he is never gonna be box to box at this age.

 

Sounded completely the opposite on the commentary.

 

KH was effective sweeping today offering protection to the back.

Took awhile to get in the game as to be expected but then settled down well playing in front of the back four and organising the defence talking all the time and denying them space on the edge of our box an area we have been very weak, Give him time to settle in and I think he will be an asset.

 

Nothing special but still better than Akpan.

 

He was talking to the players all the game, his positional sense was bang on. Makes a change to not see a team running through our non existent midfield.

 

First half hour he looked well off it, but so did everyone. Then he settled and did well.

It wasn't a polished team performance but it was a resilient one. Our centre backs did well and a large part of that is because they were well protected

I thought he was a huge influence on the game.

It was all off the ball stuff that counted for me. Slowing the game down. Constantly talking and organising. Getting in front of the ref when we made a substitution so the ref was preoccupied with him rather than the city player slowly leaving the pitch to applause.

Him and Caddis have already made a huge improvement to our ability to manage a game.

Straight after our first goal he was wasting time to ensure we didn't immediately concede.

 

Imagine if we still had Rory, TM, Killa and JH/CW
I’d very much doubt we’d be bottom of league 1

 

Problem is we've lost both todays central defenders NKP for 3 games and O'Connor for his 5th yellow.
