Worst ever City XI

A few more to bear in mind from my time watching City. Alan Dowson, Tim Steele, Mark Evans, Steve Gardner and Harmjit Singh( probably got the last one name wrong)

 

Didn't we play Babb as a striker when he first came, or is it my old brain playing tricks, just checked his playing record and he scored 10 from 34 appearances his first season ?.

 

Played Babb at left back first and then moved him up top ,got a hat trick against Preston in one game the best of the shite we got from Milwall ,half a million from Coventry who then got 3.5 from Liverpool, we missed a trick there

 

Him and Wes Reid. I remember one crazy mazy run and goal Reid scored. That was about it.
Rankin wasn’t very good. Grant up front, along with Danny Forrest, a bit out of their depth. Ward and Torpey got stick despite scoring goals. Speight and McClean terrible.
Always thought Paul Reid was pretty poor. Singh, Petta, Gillespie all awful on our wing.
Rouven is the worst keeper I’ve ever seen play for us.

 

Ian Bowling was a little iffy for a keeper too ,but yes I think Rouven shades it for being consistently bad ,and I originally thought he was a better keeper than Doyle and would prove it when he was injured ,how wrong I was

 

Wes Reid was okay but he pissed me off when City forked out for an operation he needed at the end of the season and as soon as he was fit he buggered off to the mighty Airdrie

If you were born in 92 you would have been 6 when whalley joined us. With the greatest of respect you were hardly old enough to walk let alone form opinions.

 

I'm sorry to be so blunt but you obviously know very little about football. Whalley and O'Brien are very close to our best ever 11. anyone who played in the championship regularly must be better than a div 2 player

 

Tim Steele? put in one of the best individual performances I've seen for City when we tonked Exeter 6 0. albeit I was young a d impressionable

 

edghill wasn't that bad. I think Cowans suffered because he didn't run much but he could pass

 

Darren Holloway the slowest player I've ever seen

 

Tim Steele was ok had a very sexy xr3i at the time too

Yes! Very harsh naming Tim Steele imho, and Paul Reid albeit didn't he sack us off and go to Hudders like Lee Duxbury? The memory isn't too great, but the 90s were my formative City yrs.

 

God how I'd like Gareth Whalley now, again after seeing Wright canter around to no purpose.
