You have listed colville amongst the fringe players, yet he is twice the player devine is or will be.. Unfortunately Danny has gone backwards due to the amount of or lack of gametime offered towards him, which ironically is something edin was right about.. Them 7/8 games devine played at right back whilst derby/mcmahon were out could have been the making of him.. He turned into a competent little player at that level, unfortunately mccall tossed him aside and we barely saw him again

As for Saturday ,id say o'connor was a shoe in for midfield. Previously played there regularly for aberdeen so certainly no stranger to the role. Stick him there and that only leaves nkp and McGowan which hopefully mean dispensing with the 3 centre half idea, if only for another week

Quite right. Edin said on Saturday Danny will be another two weeks or so yet which is an improvement on the fear it may be all season after his injury at Harrogate.

Because Edin is the man responsible for the recruitment which has led us to have a relegation quality team with pretty much zero back up options.

 

We have around 12 midfielders plus a couple of kids, how many more do you want?

That was Collins' first choice central midfield. I am not sure it will be Hopkin's.

Unless we stumble across a star, the alternative of relying on untested youngsters doesn't fill me with loads of confidence either. Either way, it's one of many positions we neglected in the summer

I don't think the people complaining even give the finance side a single thought or they simply say 'Edin needs to get his hand in his pocket'

Discussing poor signings, who made them and whether they are good value is absolutely something we should do.

But saying we should spend more and more and more is just an easy cop out.

Solutions need to be found and soon. As I have already said, that I think the players kitty is empty, and if the owners will not either sacrifice their dividends if there is any or pump money in then further players cannot be brought in. Obviously they will need to balance their financial approach with the high prospect of relegation, that is for their discussion, and hopefully they will look at the signings which Edin and co were responsible for before dismissing out of hand any further monies.

Hoppy will need to play young players and just hope that we can find a good one in there. No other course of action can be taken as they are the only options we have.

 

What you have described is the position 90% of Div 1 and 2 clubs are in.

Generally I agree with you and I hope the board maintain a a fiscally responsible stance.
