Hughes has been given what all our managers get: one single go at getting it perfectly right first time.
He hasn't, so I'm assuming our Edin Rahic-brained fans now want rid.Jay, JimmyBantam, CRASS and 9 others like this. -
I’m being patient with Hughes as well, but he simply has to start acknowledging something isn’t right.
We can all see it.
There’s nothing wrong with getting things wrong as a manager but failing to recognise mistakes and making the same mistakes time and time again isn’t good enough.
Something needs to change. Even if change happens and it doesn’t quite work out, I can accept that.
But at least fail trying instead of doing the same thing over and again and getting the same results each time.AngryGaz, London BCFC, Inspector and 8 others like this. -
Some fans can't understand the level of criticism directed at Mark Hughes, as we're on the fringe of a play off spot.
Given the financial support he's been given in assembling his squad, coupled with his experience at the highest level as a player and a manager, it would not have been unreasonable to expect that we should already be well established in the top three. The majority of fans don't follow the team away and can only go on what they've seen at Valley Parade - "dull as dishwater" performances, poor results, questionable team selection, tactical naivety and a manager outwitted by the likes of Pete Wild and Dave Challinor. The slow motion, sideways and back style, akin to an over sixties walking football side has destroyed the match day experience at Valley Parade, where the masses are repeatedly outshouted by a vast minority of away fans.
I struggle to name one player who has improved under the management of Hughes, but can name several who've regressed. We seem to be pinning our promotion hopes on a batch of veterans, crocs and untried youngsters signed in the January window. No surprise that three were already unavailable due to injury last Saturday, while a fourth was left flat on his backside while gifting Barrow their winning goal.
I rest my case..............Angryangryian, Tingleyb, Bumblebee_Tuna and 7 others like this. -
Been backed well by the board, the recruitment has been good (in my opinion).
The tactics and in game management are absolutely dreadful. No excuse for negative football at this level with the backing and support Hughes has hadJay, Hampshire Bantam, Inspector and 6 others like this. -

I know you along with a few others on here enjoy your little wind ups and negative banter but if you really believe half of what you post why continue watching Bradford City why not support a more fashionable team like (Manchester United) or another football team even take up knitting.Jayteebee, vladimir, Rogered Tart and 6 others like this. -
MH has to change whether he likes it or not. You can only back failure if you can see improvement. Not only is there no improvement, confidence is draining away both fans and players. Someone needs to explain this concept to him or otherwise his job is on the line. Does he want to end his managerial career here? Other clubs are watching, but they will see what we have.

He deserves until the end of the season at least. We also have a habit of vastly overrating our squad. Gilliead starts for us ffs.
If we're still this miserable come next December then sure let's sack him, but it's the same thing that happened under Bowyer and Adams. If we sack him now I guarantee we'll be in the same situation next season.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... I do agree that things need to change but surely the idea of having a big squad was to change personnel out of form, Hughes seems fixated with the same players. Maybe its time to give the other squad players a chance to claim a starting spot.Budgie, Rocket, WilsdenBantam and 4 others like this. -

Quite frankly at the moment, I don't care what his football is like as long as he gets us out of this horrible league

Lineker “ Mark we’ve not had time to talk about Bradford, in League 2, Wrexham going for promotion could be playing next season”
MH “I hope they get up but we won’t be playing them as we will be up too”
Said with a very straight face and before I get jumped on I’ve paraphrased his words but “we will be up too” were definitely thereAngryGaz, borderlescott, Bantam Begins and 4 others like this. -
I understand what he’s trying to do. He’s trying to get the team to move the ball about so the opposition comes out an loses formation an we can create space.
the question on everyone’s mind is why is he doing it? Barrow are shite. Their form resembles The referee’s hairline. they aren’t gonna chase the game. They will sit deep an pack the middle. why in the actual feck would you deploy a system with no wingers an 3 midfielders who have no pace or creativity. the logic borderlines delusion of the highest order, especially considering we are playing at home and are supposed to be fighting for promotion -
I get what you are saying @JonButterfield but what is easier to change, a formation or half a squad?
We can't, and probably aren't in a position to keep buying players in a hope we finally find 11 that fit a 4-2-3-1.
We have a squad of 22 currently, let's pick a formation that suits the majority of them.
I am not saying the below are world beaters by any stretch, but You have listed the likes, of Oliver, Sutton, east, odusina, hendrie and probably others as failing to have an impact but in all honesty what real chance have they had.
Hughes has blindly played and picked the same 11 (barring injury) every week in the vain hope that it finally clicks, yet despite some results going our way, it quite clearly isn't.
The lack of a plan B will be his downfall unless he magically strikes it lucky with his 4-2-3-1. Theoretically we should be turning sides over at ease with the supposed attacking quality in the team but we aren't getting near that.
Cast your mind back to the start of Adams reign, them home games when we were missing 10 chances a game, with what was perceived to be a lot poorer side than the one we have now. We have long periods of games now where we create absolutely nothing.
This is why fans are begging for a change, it's almost like we are kids playing in the park yet mum still has hold of the reigns. Let them go and have some fun, we fall and have a few bumped heads, so be it but at least we had a goTony Wilkinson, Craven Koppite, Bronco and 3 others like this. -
19 points off top spot in this poor league with our squad is unacceptable.

If he does not succeed at City, then I feel his managerial career is over, who would employ a guy who gets backed to the hilt, in a piss poor league but still cannot deliver?.
