I vaguely remember Bradford City's past owners/chairmen when I started watching 1958ish, it was just something as a fan was of little or no importance, once Stafford got involved with his pre-match/post-match comments we realised just what a flamboyant chairman along with the media could do for our club, but even then as you say without financial clout you're struggling.
Remembering teams like Burnley being run by Bob Lord, even Manchester United chairman Louis Edwards being the local butcher, later the money men started to take over clubs, Bolton had Philip Gartside, Wigan had Bradford born David Whelen, unfortunately Bradford born but most of his life was spent in Wigan, Jack Walker at Blackburn Rovers.
I believe Rupp was as good as it could get unfortunately he did not realise what was involved, and that at sometime he may have had to put finance into our club to take us forward.

 

They need to put more effort in.

As a fan base we must not accept mediocrity. With the right people in charge we should be in the Championship at least.

I don't get all this looking back at our historical league position as a yardstick for our future.

Why the hell shouldn't we be in the Championship-we have the ground and we have the support. Those that just shrug their shoulders and say but it's always been like that are part of the problem if you ask me.

Be ambitious and don't settle for second best-which is what we are being subjected to right now. Just saying get behind the lads FFS just hasn't worked has it?

If we want a more positive season next season then there has to be a fundamental shift across the whole club in mentality.

Sustainability mindset gone -tick (TBC though )
Lack of investment gone-tick (TBC though )
Fans waking up and taking action-tick

We all want to get out of this khazi league by promotion but just accepting the status quo is getting us nowhere.

 

Very well said. We shouldn’t expect second or third best. We have every right to be in the top two divisions, just because we have always been in the basement league does not dictate our future.
