Why do they have to "fully explain what he is suspended for"?

No I asked you to explain why.

Its like asking you why you have a midget fetish. We know you have but don't need to know why.

No-one gets suspended "for" anything. It could be that he has, in fact, done nothing wrong. Suspensions are for establishing facts. Until facts are established it would be wrong for the club (or anyone else for that matter) to comment.

This is our player, and I am upset that this is happening to one of our players. I am also concerned for potential victim of her/him in being involved in a possible high profile case, therefore it is utterly pointless debating the speculative in and outs of this case. Tyrell has not been charged with anything as far as I am aware and no doubt will have been released on bail pending further Police enquiries. Everyone in this country and under the jurisdiction of the law has an absolute right to be thought of as innocent until such time as all evidence has been collected. The Crown Prosecution has looked at the viability of all evidence and it has all been properly examined in court and found guilty or not guilty.

The club have behaved with respect for the above and they are not in a position to comment as firstly they probably know as much as we do, secondly they will not wish to prejudice any case against Tyrell. It is common practice to suspend anyone who may have brought the club into disrepute, no doubt they will await the outcome of police investigation and any possible charges and court processes.

There’s a difference between being found not guilty and being proven innocent. To be found guilty the jury must be sure that an alleged offence took place and was perpetrated by the person in the dock. Even if you think they did it, but you’re not totally sure, you have to say not guilty. That’s different to innocent.

Completely wrong. Not guilty is the same as innocent in English law. Only Scottish law has a verdict of not proven. Such a verdict doesn't exist in English law.

You are completely wrong in part of your comment. You are right in saying there is no such verdict as innocent, BUT not guilty is not the same as innocent. Not guilty is exactly what it says, you are not guilty. It doesn’t mean you are innocent, it can just mean they can not decide, or there isn’t enough evidence to find you guilty. You could be innocent but that isn’t what the jury are asked to decide.

It is nearly always difficult to decide what happens in any given incident unless you are there. People’s memories fade, the way the evidence is presented, and we ask ordinary men and women to sift through the legal jargon and come to the right decision on what happened and make a decision.

Do people in "normal" jobs get suspended before they go (if) to trial? All seems too rushed to me, to placate the hysterical social media driven faux puritanical modern world those peeps inhabit.............presumed guilty I suppose. But if I was him and I was not then I'd be mightily pissed off.

Suppose it depends what job you did and what you had been arrested for. For example if you were a teacher and you get arrested middle of a lesson for sexual assault you would be suspended. If I was arrested for sexual assault and my work found out I would expect to be suspended.

    For the avoidance of ‘confusion’.

Criminal Law operates on the basis that, ‘the prosecution typically has the burden of proving its allegations beyond a reasonable doubt’. If a matter were to go before the Crown Court, a jury would hear all the evidence and if the case proceeds to a conclusion (some matters collapse) either by a unanimous or in some cases a majority decision, the jury gives a verdict.

Civil cases operate on a lesser threshold of ‘the balance of probabilities’, in layman’s terms 51% although that is a somewhat simplisitc overview.

If you want to read up on Criminal Law, then Blackstones Criminal Practice would be a very good place to start. https://global.oup.com/academic/product/blackstones-criminal-practice-2018-book-all-supplements-and-digital-pack-9780198812289?lang=en&cc=fr

You can give lots of other examples.

Someone charged with theft/fraud, would you be content for them to work in your bank or accounts department.

Someone accused of knocking a person over, would you be happy for them to drive your company vehicle.

I anticipate that in the ever expanding world of contract law, that there will be a specific clause covering such a situation, as has arisen.

If I had been suspended in my job, then I would go to my union and/or my professional body. There surely will be a code of conduct. If this is a wrongful suspension, then I could attempt to seek redress.

    Yes.
    Yes (I've owned several companies).

You can't go suspending people who may have done nothing wrong, not without other strong evidence/suspicion as well as the criminal charge, that's bonkers, it's presuming guilt.

    It's a dilema really.

The club have suspended him in my opinion to be seen to be doing the right thing, but in some ways the lad even if found to be innocent is now tarred.

They are 100% spot on. Employment law guidance indicates if there is potential for dismissal from employment after an investigation establishes there is fact to an allegation, then the employee must be suspended immediately and everything must remain private and confidential while the business holds the investigation.FULL STOP,

It is always accepted that the substantive rate of pay remains in place during this time.

Of note, this is to PROTECT both the employee, potential witnesses, the person (s) making the allegation(s) and the business

The profession of the employee and business is irrelevant.
