Actually the ST increase isn't going towards player acquisition. It's to cover increased overheads for running the club.

I am sure all clubs want to play flowing football that gains results, but we are not playing against ourselves, the opponents set out to stop this and often do, time wasting, dark arts whatever, they want to win as well . I did not go on Tuesday, was not well, but my lad did, he said we were poor, but Doncaster and their antics played into this , not surprising with McCann in charge . We are in league 2 and will come across it quite often and have to find way's to be better.
If an increase in revenue is needed to help the club try and find the way.
I am all for it. If this also helps with the increasing overheads, then so be it.

I assume you will wait until the ST price goes up by the last game of the season so you can give as much of your hard earned money as possible to the club to spaff away next season.

 

My feelings entirely.
Some will say we are not commited whilst I think some of our fans should be committed.

 

So if I worked this out correctly, the cost to cover 8 non-renewed adult season tickets will take 40 adult renewals at an increased cost to cover.

Huge shame on those posting and liking messages aimed purely as a dig at other posters, many of whom are long-time supporters. You know who you are, and I'd hope you hang your heads in shame.

Or maybe, just maybe the cost of running the club has increased over the last 17 years we’ve been paying peanuts and to stop us going bust whilst staying competitive they’ve had to increase prices. Jesus, it’s not a fecking charity, it’s a business.

 

I’m not been funny, but if 5000 people decide not to renew then that’s gonna hurt the club and there’s not a lot my extra £100 would do to fix it.

 

I think the club already know why a lot of long standing fans won't be renewing which isn't to do with a slight price increase its down to negativity, mediocrity and total lack of ambition coming out of the club expecting us to pay more (however much) to effectively balance the books (keep us sustainable) and offer no words of encouragement no words of how next season will be better nothing at all except that's the price that's what we are spending it on especially after the season we are having @JonButterfield is right to be angry sadly he's not alone

Although I actually don't have an estimate, what do you think is going to happen to season ticket numbers?

It was 15,054 for this season from what I can see, I think it maybe drops to 12,000 at the lowest.

That would equal, approximately, the same amount of income as we got this season. Any higher than 12,000 and the club have made more money to go towards those overheads. Any less, and it's likely a net loss.

Again, all very, very approximate.

 

Meanwhile, today I get this uninspiring email from Virgin Media trying to justify why they want an extra £5 a month for giving me nothing extra. Why didn’t they send me an uplifting video of all the fantastic things to come?
It’s life. Sometimes you just have to suck it up.

 

And on top of that, if the suggested 3000 don't renew, it's not just the cost of their season ticket the club are losing. Any money they would have spent at the ground or in the club shop is also lost.

 

It only causes a ‘kerfuffle’ when people like you make an issue of it by moaning about it every year.

I paid £2500 upfront so my season ticket effectively costs me £100 per season on top of what the club charge me.

It’ll be finished in a couple of years so you’ll have to find some other unnecessary thing to whinge about after that.
