Let's say Alexander is thoroughly pissed off with sparks and hatches a plan.

Thursday afternoon he says to Cooky, do me a favour Andy, this pillock has stitched me right up, half way through this session I want you to "pull up".

Alexander then goes to sparks and says Cooky is knackered, I need Young to play on Saturday, the ball is in your court.

Then we'd see what sparks was made of

 

He’d tell him to play Derbyshire instead.

 

Yup 18 games left with more at home than away, at one time that would be a bonus unfortunately for the last 3/4 seasons our home form has been hit and miss to say the least, with the games available can the football side be turned around to excite fans with regards the coming season, because at the end of the day its whats on show on the pitch that sells tickets, plus a little optimisme from fans believing next season will be our season.

 

But that was not my question was it.

 

Far too logical for the EFL or who ever makes the rules, especially as Paul Simpson was saying we were pricing money bags Carlisle out of the running.

My points/post was related specifically to the situation with Jake Young.

 

We all know , without saying it will be undisclosed . I’d rather him stay and play and prove he’s good enough , but he’s let it be known , I’m more than sure that he wants to go, hence the self certified “injury” . Why otherwise would GA try and persuade him to give it a go (however he couched it) . Which ever way, it remains as I said earlier, needs settling one way or another.

I haven't suggested he has but I can't in all seriousness call it an upgrade and given a poll of the fans I bet, overwhelmingly they'd have rather kept Lewis.

 

I see it a different way in that the club has seen he's got a value now and they want to cash in. GA will have had no say whatsoever and I don't buy all this Club-good, Jake-bad nonsense that's peddled around.

The smoke and mirrors absolutely stinks of Sparks just wanting profit for his balance sheet to present to Rupp.

Let's be fair, Rupp might be just about the only person in Sparks corner cone May.

 

I wasn't suggesting you had, my point was at the moment he's been adequate and not let us down and we've done good business if we got £200,000 for a player who;s head was turned during the closed season he admitted he was having problems.

 

I don’t blame Young at all. He wants to leave, to better his career and play for a club other than us. Who I do blame, is our board for their lack of communication regarding his status, and the fact that they seem to be holding out for some sort of out of reach monetary offer to come in. They are the ones stopping Young playing for us. Take a decent amount and move on. I don’t understand how they can’t hear the nails being banged into their coffins. Credibility is literally draining away by the day. Is RS really really waiting for the big bucks to come in so he can sound his PR klaxon and declare he’s done a great job getting x pounds for Young and holding out for it cos he knows football? Instead, Young will either get sold last minute for an undisclosed amount (read, not what we wanted) or it’ll all fall through and we’re left with a player who doesn’t want to play for us. For the love of God Sparks, take the next offer asap and use THAT money to sign a replacement and score PR that way. Idiot!

 

It'll be good business if we replace him properly. That's all I'm saying.

 

Don't you think Walker could be capable of replacing him yes we've only seen a few games but I believe this commanding of his box alone is better coming and catching or punching, signing Lewis suggests we don't need to spend to replace him.

 

I wouldn't believe all Paul Simpson says were really guessing don't you think.

 

He's 32 and only ever been a first choice keeper once and that was 5 years ago so no, looking at his history I don't think he is capable of replacing Lewis.

 

Time will tell, 32 is no age for a goal keeper but we have to accept his past career stats.

 

I don’t either but do you believe he’s injured ? I believe he was throughout Dec and there’s plenty of solid evidence . I don’t believe for a minute he remains injured however. . If the club want to cash in on a decent bid fine, if he stays , again fine.

Until then the malaise remains.
