January 2024 Transfer Window

I'd be surprised if Alexander goes with only Ridealgh and Tomlinson out of the back 6 from the last league game (accepting Lewis has gone). I thought we looked good on Tuesday but it would be incredibly harsh on Halliday to be dropped out of the starting line up. I wouldn't be against it mind because we looked very comfortable on Tuesday night.

 

Lets hope that the Lewis money and incoming Young money, plus the wages saved on 3 or 4 of the shite we can hopefully shift on is put to good use.

CB, LWB, CM, ST please. I am not hopeful, but will judge after the window shuts.

Lewis going made sense to me. Business wise anyway. I am not enthralled by the keeper but as long as he is 'capable' he should be ok until June. I really want us to keep Young, but looks like he is done with us. Lets hope we dig our heels in and maximise the transfer fee.

 

I had the fear of life put into me yesterday when GA said that we wouldn't go for another attacking mid even though Pattison is out for practically the season as it made me fear that Osadebe might hang about.

Just double checked, we still haven't cancelled Tullochs loan deal, would have thought that was one of the first things we'd do? Going from past Jan windows, the cut off recall/cut date has been the middle Monday of the month. So if he's still here Monday I'm guessing he's staying? Still think we need a LWB and if Young goes another forward is needed.

Have an awful feeling in the back of my mind that we will make money on Lewis, Young, Stubbs and maybe one or two others and just bring in another loan or two. Got a feeling we will be seeing a Ryan Sparks statement in early Feb.

 

Maybe we don’t have the option of sending him back? If that’s the case, what a woeful signing. I thought in flashes he looked ok, but maybe that’s cos I was comparing him to Afoka who was truly dreadful.

 

Dan Kemp has been mentioned on this thread a few times this month, he is seemingly staying at MK now. Their paper has said he is back training with the first team and is expected to play on Saturday. They were in talks with Charlton over a move but it seems like Charlton have moved onto a cheaper option, they are expected to sign Connor Coventry instead from West Ham.

Charlton are struggling to get Jonson Clarke-Harris over the line. Peterborough paper have said he has had a sizeable wage laid out as part of the deal, but JCH is waiting to see what other offers come in with Wrexham still rumoured to be interested. Sounds like he wants that Hollywood pay packet over staying in L1. Wrexham loaned out Billy Waters yesterday to Doncaster.

 

Williams said he would train with the squad for two weeks with a view to him “ being available” or something similar. He could do well there, I don’t get why he should want a move unless he’s busy texting his best friend 24x7

There's a line in the WOAP article about Harry Lewis hinting that there might be some potential incomings: "Meanwhile there are other, credible noises of some potentially exciting incomings that may well lift the mood."

I wonder who Jason has heard about? Presumably no one who's been mentioned on here. Could just be a seed planted by the club in the hope of calming us all down but I think we do need to hear some positive rumours soon. The mood seems pretty bleak at the moment if I'm honest.

At the end of the day sparks started off his tenure at Bradford by being very vocal on Twitter and the like, but soon as the shit hit the fan, he hid. Can’t have it all one way, only got himself to blame

 

Well I don’t. It is a nice bit of banter with friends on here. I am not offended or in any way disturbed. I think ppl are far too worried about being offended.

 

All fair comment Steve just don't think there is any need for stuff we're told was posted on social media, you can have a legitimate concern without slagging someone off, or is it a case of one upmanship for these cretins.

Probably stuck with him if we’ve agreed a season long deal and West Brom don’t want him back. I remember when we signed him and Rochdale fans were describing him as the worst loan signing they’ve ever had.

 

I largely avoid it Dave - its all about whos got the biggest balls and can shock most or very angry individuals who make their points in a somewhat uneducated way!

Doesn't change the fact that if Sparks did the football part of his highly paid job a bit better then a lot of this would end straight away - from never being off twitter when he got the job, he has subsequently and abjectly failed to provide any ambition and vision as to how we are going to develop from being a mediocre lower half League 2 football club

 

If the rumoured wages they pay are to be believed I can see why he's waiting.

Maybe GA is prepared to give Bobby and Chapman a chance in the AM role? They didnt do themselves any harm whatsoever on Tuesday night.

Pretty sure GA has said he isnt interested in loans. Hopefully that means he has some lined up with potential funds.

 

I don't get this dislike for Tulloch. Whenever I have seen him play I thought he looked to have something about him. He did very well at Newport away and in the short appearances at home. I think he hasn't featured since Alexander arrived because he doesn't fit into the system(s) now used.
