The pitch did not help either side tonight but has been poor for awhile

I said during the game the ref made Drysdale look a world beater.
A little bit disappointed myself, they were there for the taking tonight and i thought Alexander was a little too conservative and happy with the point. Saying that Cook should have buried that chance second half.
Keeps the unbeaten run going though . Roll on monday.

After not watching city for nearly 3 months, we really are a technically poor team. Yes tonight was a fair result so was Morecambe but this team is bang average, so short of ideas, movement, off the ball looking for space and lacks real leadership.

Under Rupp this club has gone backwards and now stagnates. Reading comments, some are happy with a draw tonight...yet Stockport were clearly there for the taking...

Awful conditions that produced an awful game of football, Stockport started well and passed it nicely but that type of football couldn’t really last long in those conditions. Decent point though, just a shame it wasn’t to back up 3 against Morecambe who lost 5-0 today. Onto Monday.

    It's a mentality problem.

There's a difference between saying "well, we played the top team and got a point" and "we made a number of chances and their keeper made some great saves so we're happy to settle for a point"

Just because we played the top team and got a point doesn't make it any better or worse than drawing against Sutton. What makes it a good or bad point is what happens during the match.

That was piss poor. Neither side tried to play.. neither side wanted to win. A waste of everybody's time.

We don't have strength in depth... Our bench is piss poor.

It's the hope that kills you. Expecting mediocre like Park is why this clubs stagnates.

It’s worse than that, Stockport are a bang average team that we should have beaten twice yet they are currently running away with the league and we are 10 places and 17 points behind them.

Not being a Twit but as things stand they ate the best team innthe league and will more than likely go on to prove that .............how many weeks was the Notts County shambles ????? So to go from that to this deserves a lot of praise in my opinion

I do not think anyone accepts it , and bar wining big on the lottery, there is not much us mere mortals can do about it.

Why after months of turning teams over 8-0 a couple of games ago and top of the league are they suddenly there for the taking. As for your first points there are very few “technical” teams at this level. Under GA we have turned a passive team into one which shows intensity togetherness and will to win which has seen us go 8 undefeated now. 2023 has been very disappointing I think next year is going to look a lot better

I actually thought we applied ourself very well… yes we are not Brazil but we did ok. Onwards. January is coming. We are also missing two of our best players Walker and Pattison. All is better and January is incoming. We have a few jewels to sell too. Young and Pointon. I am more worried about our super right back going he is playing very very well …

Apart from dead ball kicks I thought Smallwood had a decent game. Halliday again was really solid and the three of Halliday, Gillead and Tomkinson completely shut down their obvious threat down our right.

A neutral spectator would not have known who was top of the league. Good battling gritty performance giving as good as we got. Both defences were very solid. Another step forward for the team tonight to continue to believe they are better than the league position. Is that 8 unbeaten now?

And I was right behind the save from Cookie and their keeper finger tipped it round the post. Amazing save.

Great support from Stockport as well. Hopefully we are playing them in league 1 again next season.

Finally their number 8 needs to get some new legs as the current ones aren't keeping him upright that much.

The pitch and conditions were a leveller today. They tried to play. We lumped it and tried to play off the break down. We kept putting balls in behind the FBs which was sensible in the conditions. I can see that they are a strong side and aren’t surprised they are up there. Fair play to both defences for not managing to feck it up in the conditions. Halliday was again very strong both going forwards and defensively. We need to keep him. Ridehalgh isn’t a wing back.
gilleard looked out on his feet. Smallwoods positioning to break up play was good. For me although it’s a minor beef Cook doesn’t get back onside quickly enough and good teams take advantage of the easy possession.
As another poster mentioned we could have used some fresher legs after 70 mins or so. Gilly and Odour looked knackered. Pointon for Odour would have made sense to me. To inject some energy late on.

I hope you are right Park. When it comes to technical, I was looking purely at our team, is it really better than what YOU have seen since this clubs relegation in may 2019. Honestly?

What happened in the match was two battling teams both wanting the points and both having to settle for a point. We should NEVER settle for a point but after giving everything against a good team we get one then we have to accept that

A line I've used in the past but do Leyton Orient, Carlisle, Burton, Morecambe (off the top of my head) have windfall owners. We stagnate, they prosper

I think we have some decent players amongst the squad what we have lacked is the scruffy off the ball stuff closing down pressing from the front. Whether it’s pretty or not I think it’s the way we eventually we get out of this hole if a league

Well, tricky conditions. Pitch took a good beating. Stockport have been pretty free scoring and we kept them to no real chances on goal. That’s not to be scoffed at. We had a few chances and could have won it, but not at all clinical enough. Having said that, looked like a good save from Cook at the end there. Overall, not a bad point.
