New Coach - Michael Collins

Don't get me wrong because I'm all in favour of this teamwork thing but it has to be genuine. At the moment it seems a bit contrived. The pre and post match interviews seem to be more about players and coaches making sure they're 'on message' . From the snippets I picked up from the game it seems we're doing huddles and high-fiving the subs at ht. Great if it's spontaneous but I suspect not.

I suppose we'll see how many subs want to high-five when we're on a bad run and they've been on the bench for weeks with out so much as look in. A practical joke mis-fies at training, or someone doesn't get a bonus payment or a move they wanted and the pre-match huddle could start to look a bit awkward.

How did it pan out during the match? Was MC the centre point, or the other two also taking lead?

 

My reaction to Saturday's game was similar to the loss at Harrogate - it's all very new, everyone is finding their feet and we'll know more once we get into the run of the season.

 

Collins was clearly wearing, and responding to, an earpiece which I assumed was radio linked to Rahic.

It was no more contrived than any away game I’ve been to where we won... and that’s quite a few over the years. They ALWAYS congratulate each other, bench included and they ALWAYS stand in front of the away support.... as a means of saying thanks for following us..

It’s nothing new imho.

 

All three were in the technical area through the game. Not at the same time I add rapidly!

 

Give it a rest Parader. I was sitting with Edin, no contact in any form other than a wave as MC left the pitch at the end. He was probably linked to Chris Royston the physio.

 

The whole bench seemed to be very animated with Abbott in particularly so as always

 

Start a thread on Robbie Blake and I guarantee you’ll get more mince in it than the sheesh mahal uses in a years worth of keema

 

NKP and Killa were not new players were they, so why give them as an example? Interviews were asking about our coach being youngest and inexperienced and how were new players finding his training techniques.

Of course New players aren't going to say negative things (unlike on here) but doesn't mean they are going to lie either.

All this about a post pointing out positive player attitudes being better than the toxic situation last season and all of a sudden I'm alluding to great things even though I am aware we have a new team and young inexperienced coach.

Well,I hope MC surprises us all and we have a promotion season.Oh, I'm not saying we will,just hope we do.

 

The more I read and the more I like this guy. He seems a real, honest breath of fresh air and I have no doubt how he comes across, he has the players onside too. You can see why Edin gave him the job now.

A bit presumptuous Fordy, everything has got a life and a value. The guy may lack experience but has the skills, so back him.Not happy with the analogy you make re a CEO and a cleaner .. have we appointed one yet matey? When I had the responsibility of expanding a Retail fashion group from 30 to over 130 stores Nationally,I found that the cream rose to the top when given an opportunity, so I won't anticipate failure as readily as you appear to my Bantam friend.

 

Totally agree. I believe @Fordy117 is basing his opinion on Colins’ results with the youth team, which were terrible to be fair to fordy. However it may have been that he didn’t have the tools to work with, or that the quality of player just isn’t there in the youth team. I’m not saying Colin’s shall be successful but to write him off as quickly as fordy has is just ridiculously naive.

 

Love it @Fordy117, are we still looking to fill the CCO position, maybe one of the turnstile operators could make one in :thumbsup:.

 

He needs to learn quickly to cut out the fancy formations and tactics , that the players haven't a clue what they are supposed to be doing, and also quit playing players out of position. what is it with City managers that do this.
