Do you mean in the video where Alexander was interviewed, I though the same when Alexander was answering question he was constantly twitching and screwing his face up.

A turgid bitter man. His comments served no useful purpose, other than to try and cause division at City, don't fall for it.. He just displayed his lack of class, he's a piece of shit.

Definitely Ryan is feeling the pressure.
I hope the GA appointment comes off ok for RS's.
All this talk that the club is rotten from top to bottom bollox, no strategy, no leadership etc.... A few victories and suddenly all's rosey again at VP !

There’s a real hate campaign starting against Sparks particularly on Twitter where some reckon we’ve gone backwards since he took over. Well we were actually 2nd from bottom of the fourth division when he took over from Rhodes so not sure about that one. He’s a little arrogant at times and comes out with a load of corporate bullshit, but he’s a young bloke and he’s transformed our off the field performance, he’s even got Gordon Gibb on board and not many predicted that. He’s also brave enough to make the tough decisions when he realises his managerial choice is not working, while the easy thing would be to stubbornly keep things as they are. Many said he wouldn’t have the balls to go up to Hughes and fire him so soon after he got us into the play offs but he’s done that as well as not letting Adams carry on too long when it started going wrong. He’s trying to drive the club forward which isn’t easy, but if results improve and that’s totally down to the manager he’ll get there.

And replace him with whom, remember it has to be one with full football knowledge and commercial acumen Steve? One has to be available and one that will be freely released by his current employer.

One doesn’t get rid of the old banger Mercedes diesel, until you have lined up a replacement.

    Who?

He'd been trained for months by Rhodes and in a way thats not really helpful. He does look drained in the interviews, could do with someone to take the burden off him but with an owner who show little to no interest who is there?

The same keyboard warriors span all platforms , hiding under fictitious names and avatars. Yet who are the first to stick their hands up when cheap season tickets go on sale. It’s ok having a voice and an opinion but NON of it offers a constructive and viable alternative.

Ask them for the alternative …the responses, if they try and proffer are interesting to say the least and laughable at best.

I'm of the view that if Ryan were to leave voluntarily (I couldn't imagine Rupp removing him since he is delivering what.Rupp wants) there is a good candidate already in the building. And that's the Commercial Director, Davide Longo, who is the one who really has improved the commercial side of the business enormously despite others taking credit for it.

Given he was previously CEO of Featherstone Rovers before joining us and is recognised for turning that club around both on and off the field, he'd be a great candidate for our CEO role if it were to come free. Oh yes, he was also Social Media Manager Ryan's boss at Featherstone.

No problem with that suggestion Rod but others will trot out the same old, same old……” Until we get someone who is completely knowledgable in all things football “

On that basis he’d be on a hiding to nothing before putting his feet under the table.

How on earth would I know Kev? I am not in that industry, that would be down to those above him to sort out. I detest responses like this if I am being totally honest

The point I was making is that if it were me, and felt unhappy and stressed etc, then i'd be walking. No job/amount of money is worth your sanity

With regards to your Mercedes analogy, surely you would have no choice if it suddenly blew a gasket and stopped working before you could plan to buy a replacement? All hypothetical of course, but this rings true with the situation Sparks finds himself in doesn't it?

Contrary to popular belief and Twitter rubbish, Sparks hasn’t blown a gasket.

Sorry Steve but it’s pointless to suggest XXX should be removed from post without identifying an alternative. The CeO’s some clamour for, dont exist. Clearly I’m on the right track otherwise you would have identified one?

I looked at a few CV’s of L1/2 CeO ‘s and couldn’t find one that isn’t commercial or secretarial. Of those I looked at , non played, coached, managed , scouted football, and from memory non had been in the post any longer than Sparks.

Don’t mistake these comments as a foil for defending any CeO or indeed ours. It’s not , rather it’s identifying the Utopian CV CeO’s some are clamouring for hardly , if at all, exist.

Id be more than happy to be shown an alternative, available candidate for sure.

The only person who comes to mind is Mark Palios who is the Chairman of Tranmere Rovers (they don’t seem to have a CEO) who was a player. However he went onto become a Chartered Accountant with PWC and was involved in football administration.
Despite his CV Tranmere are in a relegation slot at the moment.

We are one person short at CEO level and that is a DOF. Sparks has really done very well on the commercial activity of this club. I do hope ppl understand that, as without it we really would be in the doldrums. He needs a partner to tackle all things football. In my view both rolls require CEO level of experience and pay to reflect the senior position.
Let me also make it clear Sparks has been doing his very best. It is not his fault that managers have failed. Plus I am absolutely certain where the fault lies and that is down to Rupp’s lack of interest and involvement in our club. Having numerous phone calls is not engagement with the business it is a poor substitute. Furthermore, it is down to him to evaluate the amount of work that Sparks is doing and make adjustments. In other words he is stretched extremely thinly.

Yes aware of him from his time at the FA. I agree he’s slightly different because him and his wife own the majority shareholding in the club…as you suggest way beyond a CeO.

Spot on. Of course Sparks is doing his best but for me, overseeing the commercial and playing side is too big a job for one person, especially a rookie like he is. It isn't weak or a sign of failure to admit that, and I hope sooner rather than later he recognises that and asks for some help.

He might well have asked, but not received a positive answer. Or on the other hand he could just be ploughing on thinking it is his job! He has no experience at CEO level let alone a football club. Nevertheless, it is down to Rupp his one member of staff that he is responsible for to check he is ok and even if he isn’t asking for help he should make the decision.

I haven’t seen him for ages but he looks “done in” on the press conferences these last few days. Plus his reaction to the deadly Derek suggests emotionally drained.
