The CEOs job is to run the entire operation and recruit underlings to run different departments. Perhaps he should appoint a director of commercial activity to oversee the commercial manager. A CEOs job is to appoint a football manager or if you like a head of football and a coach and then let them run the football side within the financial guide lines. Of course when the manager fails he is ultimately the one the can falls at but in sport and football there are so many variables

Maybe someone to release some burden of RS shoulders when selecting new managers and provide some much needed football knowledge
Exactly the reason why this season and next season promotion is a pipe dream

You went on about CEO’s at Stockport and Stevenage thinking you are smart but fail to mention that both clubs have DOF. The before I replied who you said it was Steve Evans job which it clearly isn’t.


Stop defending the club when it’s failing. Sparks is failing, Rupp is failing.

The only thing not failing or letting down the club is the fans currently!!

 

Why get a director in the commercial department when it is successful? The whole point in a director of football is to bring much needed expertise and experience to the club where it is clearly lacking, we obviously aren’t failing commercially.

Serious question do you think the commercial side is successful? And do you think the football side is successful?

They should be two totally different answers, then that’ll give you a good reason why a director of football is needed. A bit like when people get brought in to oversee a failing school by ofsted.

 

When a school is failing they bring in a good headmaster who sets the ethos. If the club decides to bring a head of football in so be it. But it is no panacea it’s just another employee making decisions

 

Hopefully one with more competence at making said decisions.
