The ticket map for the game tells you all you need to know at the moment. Beyond the blocks C, D & E in the main stand and C & D in the kop tickets are plentiful. A championship club at £5 a ticket with no other options of watching the game should really be pushing 20k (including their 4k). As it stands we have 2 in 3 season ticket holders bothering to make the effort at best.

 

Perfect scenario:
We beat Boro 3-0
Boro sack Carrick
Hughes replaces him
City’ get compensation

 

They could offer me it for free and I wouldn't bother at the minute. It's just not enjoyable and feels like it requires too much effort.

We had the debate earlier in the season but I just can't get my head around people suggesting they're happy with watching that providing we sneak the win.

If, for example, Harrogate's goal is called offside and we win in the last minute, are people really going home happy? I just don't believe them because they'll absolutely know that we'll never accumulate enough points playing as we are so it's yet another wasted season.

 

Completely agree. There has to be at least some purpose and entertainment. There isn't any

 

20,000 was always very optimistic, 15,000 was much more of a realistic target. We've never had big cup crowds apart from Premier League sides. Even against Leeds we had less than 15,000 home fans with nearly 4,000 away fans. I suspect a lot of season ticket holders we've got at the moment have only got them as they are cheap and so they only need to go to 10 games so we don't have 15,000 that go every week. These people are also the ones who are not bothered about loyalty points so they won't even get a ticket just for the loyalty points.

 

We have tickets but I doubt we will go. Like you say too much effort.

 

I agree. We got away with it against Grimsby, but against Harrogate I left the ground feeling so despondent and somewhat cheated by the club that this will probably be the norm for yet another bloody season

I already bought my tickets for Middlesborough but if I hadn't then i'd certainly be thinking twice after Saturdays debacle

 

I made the exact same comment after the Grimsby game, and I've picked our two usual seats costing me £40, I'll never learn.

 

One of the greatest games at VP ever. That third goal lives long in my mind and I can still see Banks swivel 180 degrees in midfield, play a long ball to Kennedy charging down the left wing, who played a perfect cross for Palin to stoop and beat Big Nev. Three weeks later, Kennedy played a perfect ball for Mitchell to hit the winner v Spurs. Heppy days, how we could do with a Micky Kennedy now.

 

Something the modern day referees wouldn't allow now a days, and they wouldn't have allowed the Jim McCalliog goal against us for Southampton.

 

Has anyone received their tickets yet? Bought ours over a week ago but nothing in the post so far.

I said on Saturday the fact that people didn’t celebrate a last minute equaliser against a local rival and almost hoped we hadn’t scored is the saddest aspect of the current regime.

We’ve all been at games where a last minute equaliser has not just made your day,it’s made your week and had you eager for the next game.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so flat coming out of a ground after a last minute equaliser.

And I genuinely don’t think I’d have felt any different if we’d sneaked a last minute winner.

I know winning is important but the fare offered to achieve that end has to have some hint of being
entertaining.
