Hughes will loan Pointon to Farsley for the season in the next couple of weeks,he doesn’t seem to trust young players.

He wont get a new contract, or probably wont even want to stay if we dont go up. He'll be counting on experience all season rather than trying to see what youth can offer.

 

It’s too Late to loan Bobby Pointon to Farsley, Bradford City have already loaned Issac Robinson to them. Not only that given that they played a dirty trick on Bradford City and Bobby last season cannot see any reason to send him there.
( Bradford City Pulled Pointon from Brighouse Town at the request of Farsley then they did not play him. So Bradford City pulled him from Farsley and sent him to Liversedge)

I hope that Bradford City will not send him to Farsley.

 

I hope we don’t send him anywhere but his name ought to be on the team sheet.

 

Good chance to see how good Robinson he’s younger than Pointon so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s up to playing at a good level

 

He actually went back there after that. He played four or five games for them before returning to city in November/December time.

Avenue enquired about a loan move in January but got knocked back (think city have had a fall out with them somewhere).

I’ve no inside information on wether Pointon will go to Farsley,I’m just stating that Hughes will almost certainly send him out on loan, could be any National league or National league North team rather than give him a go in the first team. I hope we give him a chance here but Hughes doesn’t really seem to want to give young kids a chance. I’d start him at Accrington tomorrow and see how he does.

 

Have you not read what MH said about the 3 first year pros? After Bury he gave Pointon a glowing comment and it sounded as though he would have been on the bus to Crawley but injured

 

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read Pointon and Odusina did travel down with the team.

 

Sorry are you saying he returned to Farsley Celtic? Or Brighouse Town?

Also someone with more understanding of the rules on loan agreements can put me right but my understanding is that you can only have three youth loans per season. Therefore Brighouse, Farsley and Liversedge would make it impossible for him to go to BPA.

 

He was there and was fit enough to do a test before the match and join in the warm up.

 

I read that he had a groin strain so I assume that was why he wasn't selected. I don't think Hughes intends to loan him anywhere this season.

We shall see, let’s see if he starts to make the squad ,but Hughes is very similar to Derek Adams with his lack of game time for our young players. Very keen to blood other teams young players who he gets on loan, Costello,Bola, Nevers even though they turn out to be mediocre in the extreme.

There have been a fair amount of instance since he joined which paint a picture of what Hughes says in the media and what he actually does are two very different things. Words about the play off performances, or the mindset this summer. Things over the summer like saying they will use pre-season to try versatile tactics and will set the team up to be ready to change.... then only played 5 at the back all pre-season regardless of the level of opponents.

Or player specific things like praising Foulds and then sending him out on loan within weeks and saying “Matty’s our player, he’s coming back in the summer,” said the City boss. "It's not as if we won't see him again. When most fans could see the writing on the wall with that one. Or praising Dion Pereiras attitude in the media saying he'll play a part towards the end of the season, cant even recall him coming off the bench.

He seems to be happy to say things in the media which is either not true or deflecting at best. I'm 99.9% sure Youmbi and Rowe end up on loan in the NLN at some point in the coming months, I'm like 80-85% sure Pointon will too. I think if Chapman was fit and didn't have a potential ban hanging over him, I'd put Pointon in that 99.9% bracket.
