Getting concerned with him not gonna lie and it’s not because we have lost the first game of the season I’m looking at the last one aswell. We look to have regressed and I’m unsure if he sees it. Worried.

We have regressed and changing a solid back four to that mess of three CBs as well as signing Ash Taylor should be sackable offences in themselves.

 

Doesnt take long does it. New formation sounds like a potential cluster f though. Trying to be too clever some strange recruitment in the close season Halliday and Ridehalgh both get nosebleeds if pushed forwards, Taylor on paper made sense but not if he is slower than Robert Molenar.

Horrifically feeble performances in the playoffs, terrible Sumner recruitment so far apart from Pattison.

He's ripped up a solid defensive four of Halliday, Stubbs, Platt and Ridehalgh and brought in Kelly who he didn't trust to start a single game last season, and Taylor, who had fans of his ex clubs openly laughing at us for signing him.

He's gone 3 at the back with probably our best wing back option in Oyegoke playing centrally in the 3, and 2 solid right backs playing wingback, they are clearly not suited to that role.

Very; very poor, and most called it before kick off.

The issue that I have is that everyone else could see these problems throughout the summer yet given his previous Hughes is extremely likely to stick to his guns. It’s almost as though it’s self sabotage.
Honestly if he doesn’t change things quickly then we need to get him gone.

What has always concerned me since Hughes came in is who at the club has the balls and credentials to seriously question him (an bollock if necessary)?
Who is seriously asking questions of Gents recruitment? Not every signing is going to be a success but his track record with us continues to underwhelm.
Sparks is doing a decent job on the commercial side but do he and Rupp really have any grip on Hughes?
Sad to be feeling like this, but this is not a snapshot reaction after todays disappointment, we are not progressing as many of us hoped we would and Hughes 'repeat' comments after today suggest at hope rather than a clear directive

 

Hughes is a crap manager and it now depends when the penny drops with Spatks and he has the balls to sack him for the good of the club

The recruitment has been shocking without doubt and even more worrying is that he thinks we've recruited well. Patterson obviously looks a good signing but in all seriousness let's be right it was hardly a managerial master stroke as the guy was out of contract pretty much sat on our door step.

 

It's not one game though is it. Its the back end of the 21/22 season. The entirety of the 22/23 season and the first game of the 23/24 season,and we're still shit
