Best of luck to Jake Young. Whatever has happened off the field at City I sincerely hope he's learnt a lesson from it and gets his career back on track.

The Swindon move is a great opportunity for the lad and proven his patience has paid off.

 

He's looked terrible though Serg. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong but right now I'm happy to stick my neck out and say this one's a dud.

He's another Canavan imo and far too immobile given that we also have that issue with Stubbs and Platt who are both far better than this guy anyway.

 

I said weeks ago we will never see him in a City shirt again in the first 11 for sure . Best for everyone in the end it remains that way . Hope he flourishes at Swindon but I can’t see it.

 

Yeh i dont disagree. Im on the fence though and willing to give a chance. We have Kelly and Odusina to consider too mind.

Interestingly I've just read that Leyton Orient have signed Jordan Graham due to injuries, mainly Dan Agyei who's expected to be out for 5 months! Imagine if we'd have plunged a big wage into him here, only for him to be out until Christmas. That being said, we still need something down the left to compliment Oduor and Ridehalgh, preferably with quick legs.

 

If this loan spell doesn't go right, I can't see a good move in this lads future.

Had 2 hit and miss seasons at FGR play time wise. Didn't get his own way at City. Yes he scored the odd goal but watching him, if he didn't get on the scoresheet he was a very ineffective wide forward until inevitably getting subbed. Failed to make an impact at Barrow. If this loan copies the Barrow layout, surely he'll struggle for another EFL club?

 

The 3 year deals we handed out last season have all proved to be brilliant bits of business haven't they? Young, Odusina, East, Oliver, all first names on the team sheet........

Also, add the compensation paid for the spate of failed managerial appointments, alone, and you can see how we've frittered cash in recent years.

 

75 L2 appearance in total, 20 starts, 11 goals and 2 assists. Hardly thrilling to read. He scored in 4 of his starts at FGR, two of those goal scoring starts came against Bradford City.

All being well, he has a great season at Swindon and either comes back a better forward for us or is worth a hell of a lot more than he is now. If not, think Halifax might be calling next June.

Ok so Odusina, Young and Oliver then. We got 3 wrong on 3 year deals last summer. But we signed 16 on contracts.

 

Depends who you ask for the stats though.

There's people on here who would have him down as 11 goals in 20 starts which obviously reads a lot better!
