Oscar Threlkeld and Kieran Agard getting trials at league clubs still is summing up Morecambe pretty well. They look doomed to struggle once again. They only had 7 players under contract from last season still at the club, think one of those was a kid with little experience. The signings they've made aren't exactly inspiring either.

Threlkeld just isn't up to standard anymore. Agard has been on the decline for 3 or 4 years now and turns 34 at the start of the season after a poor run at Doncaster.

Few other L2 transfer bits from over the weekend.

Forest Green signed former Middlesbrough keeper Luke Daniels. He's been a career back up pretty much everywhere apart from a starting spell at Scunthorpe from 2015-2017. Wrexham beat our Bristol Rovers and Stockport to sign defender Will Boyle from Huddersfield. Wrexham are also after Matty Virtue from Blackpool who is believed to have a £200K relegation release clause on his contract that Wrexham will trigger. Virtue had a loan spell at Lincoln last season and was generally well thought of.

Gillingham are attempting to sign Sean Raggett from Portsmouth. Raggett has had a good run at L1 with Portsmouth, no player has played more minutes for them over the last 3 seasons but Gillingham are hoping to offer him a big contract. Also on Gillinghams radar is Sheyi Ojo, with the big money deal for the winger looking close to being announced. Ojo hasn't played lower than the Championship in his career and was still featuring regularly for Cardiff last season, being in 45 of their 46 matchday squads.

I figured relegation clauses were because the player didn't want to drop down a division in the event of relegation. A move to Wrexham is a drop down two!!!

When the bank of Hollywood is the drop down option, I cant imagine the player will be too bothered. To be fair he wasn't getting in the Blackpool squad in the champ and was loaned out to L1 last season.

Insta is for the kids Broncs, leave it well alone. It's full of "influencers" and other such air stealers.

As with any man management situation the first thing is to sit down and both parties put their position forward.
I accept if Jake did say what has been claimed Hughes is not going to take that lightly and was correct to get him out on loan at another club.
Although Wild had some pleasing things to say about the lad he didn't do what Barrow wanted/expected during his loan, so for me on the first day back Hughes should have had Jake in told him it was a fresh start as he still had 2 years of a 3 year contract.
With regards Hughes comments it looks like Hughes took the other option telling him his future was not at Valley Parade, obviously I don't know if Hughes gave Jake that option and Jake said he wanted out, at his age he needs to be playing football and if he is awaiting the "right offer" sitting on a 2 year contract is not good for the player or Bradford City.

I honestly couldn't imagine Stephan talking Bradford City on a open forum not knowing who the person was asking the questions.
I believe Ryan has said Stephan had implied for the right situation money would be made available.
I would think Mark Hughes joining City would have been one of those occasions, I don't think money was the big incentive for Mark as he said he was missing the daily involvement but I'd think he'd be one of the top earners in League Two ?.

Sean Raggett was excellent at Lincoln and got a good move to Norwich, he'd be a very good signing at League Two level IMO.

He worked with Jackett at Pompey and sounds like they got on well, with Jackett now the DOF at Gills he is trying to push this one through. They are also in talks with Joe Piggott and Scott Malone as well as Sheyi Ojo. All very impressive signings for L2.

I'm more confident in them being in the top 3 than Wrexham to be honest. If as expected these 4 sign, 4 who would walk into most L2 starting 11s, they'd end up with a very large squad. It already looks bloated to be honest, they are going to have a job on offloading players as well as keeping all happy.

I know we're going over old ground but both games Gillingham gave us a run for our money, especially after there shocking start to the season.
I don't know what was paid by the new owners but "being completely bias" surely Bradford City would have been a better option with far more potential going forward than Gillingham.

Just the sort of owner we need but highly unlikely that we can attract

Perhaps Young is thinking if he outlasts Hughes at the club he can start fresh with the new manager so is sticking here

Raggett and Ojo would be superb signings for this level.

They are the only team in Kent and on the outskirts of London. A very attractive prospect for someone who is prepared to invest.

PS - They have seen L1 more than us the last decade.

Out of interest why do you feel it’s unlikely? Lots of unglamorous clubs are been bought out by ambitious owners… what’s the problem with us?

I have an idea and it’s nothing to do with our potential as I think that is huge. It’s the price Rupp wants thats putting off suitors.
