I don't see the excitement for this game at all. We are in the playoffs. Ok, not mathematically yet but we are over the line, let's be honest.

You never know with these things. Another version of the story is that the league champions turn up to put on a show in front of a huge crowd and really enjoy the occasion. Its another reason that the stupid goalkick routine needs dropping today. We need to be more direct and aggressive, keep the crowd involved, build momentum, and NOT give Orient an incentive to play in our half, proving a point in front of 22k anxious fans getting on the City players backs. Nervous energy is a problem, it needs to be controlled by being on the front foot.

I think we need a win to build confidence going into the playoffs. If we scrape in, the anxiety will flow into the playoffs. The players and fans need to see a City team turn up in a big game and show they can do it. We've bottled it every time we've moved into a challenging position, we all need to see a City with some cojones today.

How are we over the line?. How can you not be excited over a game like this in front of a full house?

I wish I had your confidence, we are far from over the line, if we go a goal down and Mansfield a goal up, both fairly reasonable possibilities then it's a sweat over whoever scores the next goal

How? I’d say the odds are probably against us
Mansfield favourites to beat Colchester and I’d argue Leyton Orient favourites to beat us.
We’re well up against it today

    Exactly.
Makes a change from going to see the last game of the season when it’s 14th v 12th having a kick about for 90 minutes.

    Can’t wait.

On a serious point, we certainly do need something to restore the confidence in the squad. Recent results, and more importantly recent performances, suggest to me that the squad's confidence is very fragile.

It's a classical tale of the chicken and the egg. A win and a good performance against a good team should improve the level of confidence within the squad in readiness for the next games. But lacking confidence as we've demonstrated so clearly in recent games isn't a great platform for today's game. Building that confidence and avoiding it waning away towards the end of the game can be helped by a big crowd getting behind the team. But having the right level of confidence going into the game is about the squad being properly prepared beforehand .. and the responsibility for that rests with Hughes.

Just thought Dennis, I should go down and cheer em on….?

On second thoughts family heading in the opposite direction!
    In the fridge in readiness!

I hope everyone enjoys the big day today with a win, 24,500, happy supporters at the end, and 24,500, in respectful silence at the beginning. 56 RiP. Thinking about you all. Come on City!

Do we applaud L.O. for winning the title or, do we give them a lot of schit and try to intimidate them into surrendering ?

Colchester have good form at home recently and Orient have nothing to play for. Awful weather for a day of football but I just can't see us not finishing 7th even if we win, lose or draw

We have seemed to go from having the cojones in one game to over confidence in the next. I'd like to see a measured controlled and confident performance. And also right at 'em from the off and not letting them in to the game at all. :)
