The EFL and EPL both reminded their members at start of the season and earlier this month that there could be consequences if there were repeats of last seasons end of year pitch invasions including those at Sheffield Unitd

And yet just like us against Liverpool all those years ago, Wrexham and Plymouth fans will remember the pitch invasions for the rest of their lives. Sharing that moment with thousands of like minded people, just like i did in that Liverpool match. Just because the world is full of rules doesn't mean they are always right.I wonder if anyone at the racecourse ground or watching at homes first thought was 'Well they really shouldn't be doing that'? I understand the need for rules, we'd have anarchy if not. But i also understand football stirs the emotions like nothing else. Its tricky.

Will be interesting to see if anything is done. Only way to stop it, if it needs stopping, would be to say if there was an invasion then it guarantees no promotion. Suppose they would only have to do it once and fans would take note.
BTW I'm not saying I agree with it but it would stop it

If this issue is now becoming a financial burden to the club then the answer is pretty simple really, just offer small financial rewards or even loyalty points to any supporters supplying vital information/evidence towards removing these so called supporters from our fan base that are effectively costing the club money which in turn is detrimental towards the club trying to provide MH with the best budget possible.

Obviously my above comment was regarding pyros not pitch invasions as that's whole tougher task to tackle.

I don't think they would be able to make that stand up in a court of law. You can fine clubs but if we take the games i mentioned into account, are we really gonna fine clubs off the back of fans showing scenes of unbridled joy? The danger comes with scenes like in our playoff final against Millwall and the Hibs Rangers final from a few years ago.

And therein lies the problem. Scenes like the Sheffield Utd ones last season could easily happen at any match where there is a pitch linvasion/celebration. It is too late once it has happened to decide if it is ok or not.

As for the punishment I was taking it to the extreme but they could put in place a point deduction. If it is listed in the punishments and is known before the season starts then not sure that a court could overturn it. Could either enforce the points deduction that season, which could be complicated as there would be appeals, or give it at the start of the following season, but again that could cause issues if promoted to the Premier League as it isn't run by the EFL

Facetious: treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humour; flippant

Standing at away matches really is not a serious issue. Ask the vast majority of them

Wow! Imagine a world where we can as individuals decide if a rule is right or not and then just decide to disregard it.

Fair comment. I'm unsure where i stand with it. Having experienced it with that last game win against Liverpool i wouldn't want to deny any fan that feeling of euphoria that i had that day on the turf, one i'll probably never get the chance to replicate in such a manner. And seeing the scenes at Wrexham and the players being held aloft is one to show your grandkids years down the line. I dunno.

Imagine a world where you just do as your told and toe the line. Imagine if Liverpool fans had just accepted the polices version of events at Hillsborough and not fought for the justice they deserved.

I remember a match towards end of a season over 30 years ago, in my mind it was Portsmouth but probably not, whoever it was had won and their fans wanted to get on the pitch but the away end still had railings up. They went out of the ground and back into old Midland Road stand, family stand at the time, to get on the pitch. I was scared to death by these 'huge' men running up the stairs against the flow just pushing people out of the way, all to get onto the pitch to celebrate. Just shows that memories of those celebrations are not always good memories.

Edit - was Man City 88/89

The 'some people' who are bothered by them may be bothered because the smoke and the various chemicals it may contain can cause an allergic reaction / asthma attack / just general breathing problems. Not fun when you're in the middle of a crowd and coughing your guts out until the fit passes.
I think the saying about rules existing for the guidance of the wise and the blind obedience of the fools applies here. In general, no, pitch invasions shouldn't occur or be tolerated when they do, but sometimes they are understandable and should be welcomed, e.g. your Plymouth and Wrexham examples. As with so many things, context is important.

Plus outcome. The context of the Plymouth and Wrexham is very similar to the Notts Forest- Sheffield Utd but with different outcomes

Unfortunately we live in a world where society either refuses to accept context or simply doesn't understand the meaning. A bit like the rules of racism.

    Are you for real???
Imagine if Liverpool fans hadn’t travelled to Sheffield without tickets and charged through the gates.

Oh dear. I think you need to take a good look at what you have said and then go research what actually happened because what you have said is an insult to the people that died that day.
