Step forward Jake Young. Here's your chance to be a hero for us and for Barrow.

I agree no professional should do that, the way the seasons playing out if I wasn't a season ticket holder I would be buying my ticket for the Orient game, it could come down to us getting a positive result to either claim an auto place or a play off place it could be the biggest home attendance of the season.

He got a bit of game time today so who knows Barrow have nothing to lose going for it.

Cracking game today. I'm back in Stafford, sitting in my local pub, drinking pints of Proper Job, which is pretty much what we did today. Repeat that performance in our remaining games and we will grab one of those automatic spots.

Of course, with City that's easier said than done.

Chapman today delivered the sort of performance he’s promised all season. I’d say he lack consistency but lets be honest, if he had that level of performance on a consistent basis he’d be a championship player. That’s the challenge for him though.

Big thing from today was the level of intensity we played at. That has to be the norm at home. when we combine our aspired playing style with a level of intensity and front-footedness we saw today, very few teams will live with us at VP

    The game before we didn’t.

Point is let’s not get too excited just yet.

Your pre season prediction of midtable looks off. You were all over Swindon in the summer too.

I rarely get too excited, hence the last sentence.

However, I've learnt to enjoy the journey, rather than getting too focused on the destination. And today, journey wise, was an excellent day.

They've played pretty poorly against Harrogate today and Hartlepool recently. Limping over the line.

Their first 10 games were pretty amazing with 9 wins and a draw and they've sort of maintained a 7-10 point gap ever since. Not really run away with it at all.

One of the best attacking displays of the season. We looked really dangerous every time we went forward and all 4 forwards were on it today. That’s the team to start moving forward, fitness permitting.

Cook was excellent again today. Sutton couldn’t handle him. Walker dropped into some great positions to really compliment him. Both wide men had arguably their best games. Sutton really didn’t press us. Knock us out is our stride. We looked a good side today. My only fear is other sides won’t give us so much space and time.
Didn’t understand gilleard being hooked when Smallwood was on a booking but that’s small beer.
Today was a long overdue convincing home win. More of the same please.

Stockport must have easily taken the most points in the last six months.

Reminds me of us in that 98/99 season when we started badly, but ended up second.

Best home performance of the season - but nearly threw it away with that stupid penalty.

I've just watched highlights of the Wrexham v Notts County match. We need to get out of this division, as L1 might actually be easier than L2 next season - if both these are there next season. ;)

As others have said we were excellent today. Chapman, Walker, Banks and Cook absolutely unplayable.

Think Morais summed it up perfectly after the game in that we got the ball out wide quickly for Chapman and Banks in 1v1 situations who turned the fullbacks inside out every time. So pleased for Chapman, a player whose all round game I like a lot but ultimately hasn't delivered in terms of goals.

Similarly for Cook, he absolutely needed that goal. It was getting to him a bit in the first half after what happened at Crawley so it was massive he got on to the score sheet today.

We've set the standard now. 6 Cup finals left and we need to play like that in every single one. Granted, other sides won't be as hopeless as Sutton (who were truly dreadful) but we've got to demonstrate that intensity and attacking intent.

Just thinking out aloud but does anybody think Clayton getting injured despite him adding much needed calm and experience to our midfield has been a bit of a blessing?

    Well I said 8th is a possibility.

That still could very much be the case.

Might be. But I think Clayton along with Stubbs have been vital in altering the mentality.

We're far more 'over my dead body' now than previously. Prior to Stevenage we'd got just one point after falling behind - we've taken eight now.

It's been a big help for Smallwood. But Walker been back and now firing has been an even bigger help.
