They are men playing mens football, why does calling it man of the match make any difference in the real world. Just like in a women match, heck they even call it the womens super league, so why not woman of the match. In the real world, where most people live, no one gets offended by 'man' of the match, regardless of what inclusivity they bang on about.

Wonder if the guy who murdered Jo Cox was 'normal' at one point or another. I assume so.

 

It's a fake culture war designed to get us all arguing with each other whilst the billionaire owners of the media, managed to avoid tax for another year whilst we fight over whether Christmas is really being cancelled. Yes there will be a very very small minority who seem to get angry on other people's behalf, who themselves in reality don't care, but its not a war.

 

Why does calling it man? I'm looking for a real world answer here. Why, in a game involving 22 men, is it deemed a problem to call the best player in that game 'man of the match'? Don't fob me off with inclusivity, we have a womens and mens professional league.

 

It's odd because it's a men's game.

What's wrong with man of the match in the men's game, woman of the match in the women's game and player of the match in any mixed children's games?

It's accurate, it's traditional and it's inoffensive. Why it would even be changed in the first place is beyond any reasonable thought process.
