That was a tough watch. 1 shot on target.
A team full of apparent strangers. No cohesion. No doubt a point earned but it’s only a good point if you then win at home.

 

I realise it's not as simple as this, but with Hughes attacking pedigree as a player, I expected a more effective attacking setup. We looked more dangerous with the players he inherited last season. Having had the chance to shape his own squad, we look less effective, and we're a poorer watch - which is worrying. We need to start putting together a run of better performances with much better attacking effect, or we'll drop out of the playoffs. The only reason we're there is our early season away form which now looks to have fallen away

 

Cook and Derbyshire looked more of a threat in 10 minutes.

Strangely, I liked tonight because apart from that fifteen minutes from 50 to 65 minutes, we never allowed them to have the dominance they are normally used to.

I never feared that they would score. Their home performance was a bit like ours in the reverse fixture - a lot of huff and puff.

We looked mean, for once as thought we were going to find our own answers as opposed to our often 'why me' soft play. Hughes, has clearly clocked that no-one gets out of this division playing 100% pure footie.

Clayton looks a very good addition - I don't think there's a better midfield now than our three. Key thing will be at the top - but confident Walker and Banks will make a difference and Derbyshire looked OK.

 

For a team with such a good record they were garbage. Losing Sarcevic was a big blow for them but I'd expect way better from a team with a supposed large squad, thought we were comfortable for most of the game. Just worry where the goals come from without Cook, without those goals were gonna struggle to keep up with the top three.

I know I’ll get pelters for it but its a good result. Yes we played poor but that was the point, to get the point.

They will end up in the play off spots. Northampton who beat us at VP, lost 2-0 at Edgely park. Its a good team.

I'll admit there's an attacking confidence issue. But happy that Walker / Derbyshire / Banks etc can solve it.

Other than Rochdale we've played some tough teams, during the last couple of months.
