Our hand has been forced by this move...
We MUST twist and bring a new face in, who the new face should be.....your guess is as good as mine but whoever it is has to deliver the drive (and goals) that have now gone.

Wright is a very good young footballer like you say any replacement must have the drive to assist our promotion goal as well as been able to hit the onion bag, anything less quality wise from recruitment will weaken the team this window.

    You are talking quackers,

Oops, i meant dackers, Woking have just taken him on loan from Salford and at six feet seven he will be a handful-
Just glad they didn't bring him on against City last week.

The good news is, Ty hardly had the best record before coming here and doing a well.

We don't have to sign a proven winger if it's a loan. Someone at City just has to know how good they are...

Overanalyzing records of potentia loan players will teach us nothing unless they've played in the same system for a similarly good team.

We got a bit lucky with Wright as his previous loan appearances didn't suggest this form and people were underwhelmed when he signed so never be too quick to judge. I'm sure it's the intention of Gent to improve if there are the actual options out there

Have a very impressive young manager who was previously at Yeovil, one to watch - Darren Sarll

Imagine Darren Sarll being touted for a job at City. It would be shunned by our mightier than mighty fan base wishing for a household name. Like Pete Wild, in charge of liccle Barrow, just below us in the table on goal difference.

Huddersfield signing Anthony Knockaert from the looks of things until the end of the season, another step towards Mahoney leaving Hudds on loan.

We are kind of OK in the wide spots numbers wise, if Young doesn't leave now Wright has gone, we have enough names to play the 2 wide roles. I think we should be looking at the central 3 rather than another wide attacker as a priority. Smallwood, Sutton, Gilly are the 3 now, one injury or ban and the only player who we have to fill in there is Songo'o. Osadebe will need a lot of time to get match fit again once he is cleared, we really need to get someone who can contest for the 3 slots, over a another wide man at the minute.

Yes and no Jordan. The middle three agree wholeheartedly, however I disagree with not replacing the missing pace and ability Wright brings if he does go?

Lots of his tracking back in the last two games where he’s excelled went unnoticed. Non of the current “ home” alternatives could bring that to the table. Especially Young!

To be fair to a few on here when our previous two managers left Pete Wilds name was touted, not me by the way, but he's doing a great job as you say at liccle Barrow.

My opinion in the Summer was Wild would be best suited to a smaller League Two club.

It's hard to argue, given the job he's quietly doing there, with players like Niall Canavan.

Hopefully he turns the club's recent form round, as they've had a little dip (like we did).

Who knows, one day he might be ready for a club like ours - but we have a habit of swallowing managers like Wild and Adams, chewing them up, and spitting them out.

We're not renowned for our patience.

Fully agree, I'm just thinking budget wise more than anything. Wright was still on his first pro contract he signed at Villa as a teenager, so the chances are the fees and budgets that deal would have taken would be incredibly small. Same with Harratt, still on his youth contract so these are loans that wont amount to much against the budget. Lets say someone is ITK with Mahoney, he's a player whos been in championship first teams since 16/17, moved for over a million quid in 2019, I'd hazard a guess that he is on decent championship money, Huddersfield don't seem like they are that well off that they'd send guys who 6 months ago were signed to the first team, out on loan 2 divisions below for peanuts.

My thoughts were solely around, if the budget is stretched, which it was rumoured to be in the summer, spending that money on a midfielder to me in this new system makes more sense. If we were still playing 3 attackers behind a forward, i'd be all in on like for like replacements.

He's loved at South Shields. Pretty much their main star and he's doing very well at that level

Most likely this Huddersfield lad would be going to Harrogate. Let's take a look at some Leeds youngsters, they have a very decent academy and some great young attacking players

Ain't that just the case. The noises from certain fans RE Hughes prior to Christmas.... Oh boy.

As for Wild, he probably wasn't the correct fit with BCFC as you allude to but I believe that is at our end, not that of the man manager.

Why? Our network should be bigger than 20 miles!

Let’s just look for players that will make a difference shall we!

Agreed Wright came from Villa, when was the last time we got a loan from Leeds that could compare? Or was any good full stop?
