to be fair a Davenport (jacob) was mentioned a few pages ago - you didn’t just pluck it from thin air!

 

Other than my speculative suggestion above, anyone else aware of any CMs that might be available this month - out of favour in L1 and willing to come on loan maybe, or random free agents like that Scottish bloke Hopkin found?!

Looking at the two signings we’ve made already this window, we don’t seem to have much of the budget left, so a cheap recruit could be our only hope …….

Apparently City and Salford are showing interest in Dundee Utd striker Tony Watt.

 

Salford also after Jack Marriott. Had a read up on him on a Peterborough forum and on twitter, general sounding off on him is that he's become very lazy compared to the player they had the first time. Doesn't look up for it that much and has dropped down the pecking order. They seem to think he's done as a L1 threat, when at 28 he should be hitting his prime years.

Looks like Salford are going to be wanting a few in, did think it was a message to the board that when chasing a game against a play off rival, he never brought on one sub or changed one thing about the shape the day the window opens.

 

The Watt one seems a bit odd as we’ve three strikers and two in decent form, with the other unknown.
He’s not exactly prolific and he’s contracted until 2025 so it’s not a pre-contract job.
Centre-mid is our definite need and Dion going back and a couple out on loan could fund that. Like others I wouldn’t mind someone else to challenge Halliday over Hendrie

 

Makes zero sense for us to be linked with yet another forward.

The Watt link to me and the paper it came from screams to me, that his agent is trying to put his name out in the smaller press, probably already in early talks with Salford but lets throw another name in the press to try push up the offering or try get him out the door quicker if Salford think there's competition.

 

He scored 9 in 30 at Championship level only last season. Looks like he just having a bad time of it. Marriot would be a cracking signing for any L2 club.
