Our fans deserve a special mention I genuinely think they got us over the line. Don’t recall seeing a city away end that boisterous for a very long time

 

There was another example in the second half. Banks, I think it was. As we were winding the clock down, he picks up the ball to take a throw, then drops it to leave it to Halliday. Never, to my recollection, seen anyone booked for that.

 

Players give referees decisions to make all the time. It’s what’s they’re on the pitch for. But then, fans tend to see things differently.

It went from being comfortable to having to grind it out, but was probably more satisfactory in the end.

 

I liked what I saw of the lad Eisa when he came on very positive.

 

Yeah, and richly deserved for those who’ve suffered many a painful away day.

 

Thats our best result of the season isn’t it. Good team, Mansfield, but we attacked with Banks back in the side and could have had three first half. Unlucky to get Platt sent off but dug in well not only for the regular time, but 12 crazy added minutes.

Cook popped up, again, against one of his old clubs.

If only we could stop chucking away three points at home now…..but great effort tonight lads!

 

The referee was clearly out to prove himself - in other words, trying far too hard.

On iFollow it looked like Hughes ignored the referee and didn't shake his hand. But the camera cuts quickly. Did anyone there see him shake his hand? He usually always does with the referees, even the clown with the penalty the other week

Have to say I've felt miserable with recent results and that Harrogate disaster, but tonight was just one of those nights when our lads were magnificent and what a game! Mark has shown he can get to grips with his role in this division and another display like tonight's on Saturday and we'll be in the mix again.

 

He was their best player among dross?

 

As I wrote after the Salford game, we're firmly in the promotion race and I seriously can't think of a better team /squad than us.

If they can just sort out the home 'hesitation' play - Top 3 is very much on.

 

Wasn't Joe Jordan their manager at the time, what a disappointing night that was .
