Who was it that phoned radio leeds after the game last night wanting Andy Cook dropped for a Lee Angol, Vadaine Oliver partnership?

Who ever it was I'm assuming they didn't bother staying for the last 20 minutes last night.

He doesn't hold the ball up well or make runs to split the defenders. Have makers near him and hes out of the game.

Teams are starting to think mark Cook and hes out! The rest barring Wright won't hurt us.

 

Fair point. He's not fast enough to make those runs and certain teams seem to have a game plan that if you mark him out of the game, we have no plan B.

 

If Cook is marked rightly by two men then its up to us to make an overload and exploit that space. Its not Cooks fault that we struggles to get him involved in the game.

You mentioned holding it up. How many passes did we actually play into him on Tuesday? Not very many would be the answer.

How many times did the combination of Angol and Oliver hold it up? Even less would be the answer.

 

I think Hughes would be happy to play Angol or Oliver in the lone role of they offered more than Cook but currently they don't. We take out Cooks goals, we ain't winning games. Angol and Oliver don't offer the goal threat of Cook, and let's face it those goals win you games. I've read on here that we need to mix it up, well thats what we tried on Tuesday with subs and we looked bloody awful for it.
The trick is to get the best out of Cook.

 

There are a few Johnnies well known in the west stand who are proper nob heads.

 

Some right whoppers ring that phone in. Always seem to be the ones you were weary about at school.
