Poor from first till last , bullied all over the pitch. Reality check today and still awaiting a good performance.

 

Sutton must have something in his contract to come on all the time. He’s shite!!

 

Foulds had a steady game. Lewis his usual, everyone else was well below average.

 

Couldn't agree more. Instead of moaning about opposition centre backs manhandling our forwards, maybe our own defenders should try it. Give some actual defending a try.

 

Aye. Platt sh*ts himself whenever he's pressed. His passing is awful.

 

I had a feeling all week we were going to lose this, and my fears were confirmed within the first 5 minutes or so.

We were shocking all afternoon. Lewis, Foulds and Smallwood were decent, the rest well below par.

Yet again a team puts in there best performance of the season against us, a recurring theme and one we need to overcome quickly or we will soon find ourselves in mid table.

Lot of work for Hughes and Hodges on the training pitch next week and a shake up of personnel I think.

Pereira, Chapman and Odusina need dropping.

Hopefully Banks is back next week.

 

Platt had his worst game since Barrow. I like him, but he was truly awful today.

 

Platt has been awful from the off. Lazy fat sod.

 

Bang on, we were poor in the air defensively and even worse going forwards, yet persisted with it, I posted 11 minutes into the game "Worried about Odusina in the air against Wootton he hasn't won a header yet" I was disappointed neither Sparkie picked that up or the players recognised it and let Platt take Wooton and Odusina take Madden, 15 minutes later he makes a poor challenge in the box and gives away a penalty.
Challinor knew how we played out from the back and stopped us doing that from the first minute, no axe to grind with Stockport they had a game plan stuck to it and took 3 relatively easy points from Fortress Valley Parade.

 

I agree with the vast majority of that summary, however, how can you ditto Sutton to Angol and give double the rating for Angol?

 

Easy a very easy cop out to blame the ref ........ we know before a balls been kicked there gonna be poor ........... nobody came out of that with credit apart from Lewis we in all honesty have been getting away with it for weeks now had Lewis not been in net then we would be sat in midtable .............. this passing game is all well and good if you have players to do it ........... sadly we aren’t good enough ......... how many times do we pass it straight out of play ???
Pereira has been poor for weeks now so why continue with him if we have players who can do a job on that posistion?????
Maybe I’m being harsh but that performance has been brewing for weeks and hopefully Hughes will see that now and get them up for the Salford game because a few games like that could see thing get toxic very quickly at Valley Parade

Its a theme and I don't think its down to any notion of the opposition raising their game for a 'big match'. Our shambolic playing out from goal kicks encourages the opposition. Added to the apparent reluctance of our players to do the ugly stuff and play without intensity. It gives opponents a clear 'in'. You have to earn the right to play and too many of our players don't want to. And we take the notion of 'trying to play' too far. It's not good to watch at all. At least, I don't think it is. We may keep the ball on the deck, but we're not in the least bit entertaining, nor do we control games.

 

Definitely missing banks wud like to see east given a chance in midfield. The midfield was gash today totally out fought

 

I thought the ref was solid. Far too often we see referees easily influenced in this league, he was stubborn but relatively fair all round.

 

I agree no point Harratt being on the bench if you're not going to play him in a game like that. Fil Morais thought the way the game was panning out he should have been on as he plays with an intensity we were obviously missing today

 

We were poor all over the pitch. No intensity. So many bad passes especially from Platt.

In a way it was good that today happened. It has been coming though.

Expect to see Crichlow or Songo'o at CB next game. Pereira on the bench or dropped completely-shocking performance again today.

Halliday had a shocker today.

And I think the Songo'o standing on the ball and falling over incident just about summed us up today.

After that lacklustre performance I promise not to come back to Valley Parade until Jamie Walker is fit to play.
The inept display was summed up by Songoo's spot the ball trick and thick Gillead's push into the back of a defender in added time.
