I think @donhutchinsaffro may be correct about Pereira carrying an injury. Didn't see yesterday's game, but to me he seems a bit cautious ever since he took a really nasty whack after about 10 minutes in the Tranmere away game. You could almost see confidence ebb away afterwards in that game.
Did a Harrogate player pay him some close attention yesterday?

 

I recall him getting clattered at Tranmere but if our medical team, deem him fit, then surely he is fit?
DP was unfit when he first came here under Adams accordingly.... He was deemed to have been massively fatigued when being recalled from Yeovil after 1 game, despite playing the full 90 minutes but others questioned his attitude.

Maybe I'm being unfair but he goes missing in games. I don't expect him to tear up all opposition but to graft and as I said earlier, do the dirty yards is very much down to DP

We're in front of where we thought we would be with regards so many new faces, not forgetting Walker, Osadebe, and Eisa have to come back at some time.

Interesting to hear Sparkie quote Angol saying didn't like playing wide on the left, that is great if a player can express his point and the manager takes it on board saying he preferred the number 10 position.

Harry talking a lot of sense, although I disagree him regarding accepting blame for the Harrogate goal, the old adage says keepers shouldn't get beaten on the near post but it was a great strike from the lad Headley.

 

Two really honest interviews there.

Listening to Harry was particularly interesting-what a class act on and off the pitch.

I like how honest Mark is as well. Doesn't dress anything up-says it as it is.

I believe this sort of honesty from MH is adding to the professional outlook of the club. We are miles ahead of where we were this time last year on and off the pitch. What a turnaround.

The media team are doing a great job of bringing the club and fans closer than ever.

Now we have a team of players who want to pull on the shirt with real pride and give the fans something to shout about.

11 games in we are sitting 4th, on a decent unbeaten run and I think the best is yet to come in terms of team performance.

In fairness he did that last season. I remember him getting clattered early on in one of those home matches we had against the promotion chasers. I watched his reaction and in fairness to him he went back and gave as good as had received.

He doesn't look as sharp. Problem is he was in great form for Luton pre-season, to such a degree fans demanded he be in their 25 man squad, but then became a permanent sub or non match day member. As we see with the younger members of our squad, not playing regularly is usually detrimental as opposed to a player at the other end of their career, i.e. Songo'o who's body is more attuned to the stop start nature of the game and will benefit from less minutes.

Another great player to have around. Come March and April some who aren't doing well now, will inevitably make their mark.

 

Angol needs to be in the starting 11 next week to hold the ball up

Obviously a very long way off but looking at next Saturdays L2 fixtures hands us another good opportunity to cement ourselves for now amongst the front runners, and create bit of breathing space behind us. A lot of the higher end better sides are playing each other, similar to last week against Wimbledon but we didn't take the opportunity.

 

Just to mention that Rory McCardle looked good at the heart of the Harrogate defence but still lacked a little on pace

I've heard folk use the old excuse that he is unfit. What a load of old bollocks, he wouldn't be playing if he wasn't fit. He just ain't play well, certainly not to the standard the lad would set himself. Still time yet, the season is young. But we need players like Periera to be firing on all cylinders because at the moment its our clinical finishing thats winning us games. We've created next to nothing for our top scorer the last two games and it's upto the likes of Angol and Young to take their chance when others form is not great. Thankfully we have a big squad.
