Our fans' performance at non-rivals like Rochdale kinda speaks for itself, though.

This is when you're hoping the loyalty schemes keep the riff-raff and their childish little pyrotechnics away.

If this is true, and I'm far from convinced it is, then there'll be a few Harrogate Town fans, who've attended a City match in the past, who will be wondering why they can't get in tomorrow. :joy:

Utter nonsense, what about a good number of people who just want to enjoy a Saturday afternoon game of football and have a purchasing history at a number of clubs? If this is enforced on the day Harrogate Town will only have themselves to blame when fans get upset to put it mildly.

Do not agree with the move but can only think any justification comes on Health and Safety (probably via police pressure) and data protection grounds if this limitation is for City fans who have already bought an away ticket (via City booking office) for this match only. As said before, surely this cannot extend either lawfully or practically to previous purchase history, or can it?

Anyway let's hope we end the hoodoo tomorrow!!

Mine also cancelled , only found out when I rang them this afternoon to find out why I had not heard from them. Plus they have had my money for 2 weeks and I have to wait another 6 days for a refund. Hope we are not in same division next year.

total tinpot, I live 2 streets away from the stadium, been to previous Harrogate games. My daughter is 11 and plays for the local girls team. All a bit silly, but rules are rules I guess. Just need to refund the money

Rules are rules. It’s just a shame some people try to avoid them.
Probably the same folk who went to Harrogate or York for a pint during Covid when Bradford were in tier3.

That's a shame for you and your daughter. Unfortunately, despite most City fans being well behaved and there to enjoy the game, we have a very small number who want to create problems at away grounds whether that's throwing flares or starting fights or general yobbery. That reflects badly on the vast number of our fans who aren't yobs and would be the first to criticise such behaviour. But regrettably it reflects badly on all of us.

Yep it’s one of those. And totally understand the rational. Been to plenty of away games to see that a small section of the fans cannot behave. Plenty of other away games and we have the Harrogate Derby at home to look forward to in December

It’s always the minority who spoil it.
Football was cancelled after the queens death because of the fear of the minority booing during any silence.
We can’t drink alcohol whilst watching the match, again because of the minority.
We have to lock our front doors at home in case the minority want to burgle
The list goes on and that’s why rules are made.
Stop making it out that away fans being banned from home stands is somehow a restriction of your rights

It’s a shame but understandable in this day and age where a minority can’t behave themselves. Be nice to have the same social climate of bygone days where all fans mixed together and even if it got a bit heated there was little violence

What a comparison. Did Covid not spread in Harrogate or York? Or in a Garden in BD9 but not in a Garden in BD18.

Total overkill by Harrogate, there were loads in the home end last season as could be seen by the number of people who left at 2-0, and there was absolutely no trouble. The biggest joke is they have a capacity of nearly 5,000. Their highest gate in the football league this season isn't even 2k, and they have had 1.3k twice. Last season they topped 3k once, and that is their biggest ever gate at this level. Absolutely no reason why they couldn't hand over the rest of the terrace at the side of the pitch and still have plenty spare for their own fans.

It's sort of understandable given the bad press which a minority of football fans generate for the rest of us. And the rest of us pay a price for that. I occasionally go the watch Sale Sharks with a couple of mates. There is little if any segregation amongst fans, We've sat alongside fans fron Newcastle, Leicester and Bristol without any hint of a problem. And we've even had drinks in our hands in our seats! It's still exciting and great fun. As much as I'd like to experience something similar at football grounds, I don't see it happening in the near future.

Did you ask why they had been cancelled? Whether it was because you have a BD postcode (which I'm guessing from your username you don't) or a purchase history with BCFC? And then ask the question HOW they knew you had a purchase history with BCFC?

In the return match, don't give Harrogate any tickets. We can manage without the income.

It was made clear on their ticketing site before you buy a ticket that they'd be cross referencing purchasers with City and cancelling duplicates.
