Be a breath of fresh air. A constructive approach, in the first instance, would help.

Far from it. I said the talk of a new ground was daft as it was wholly reliant on Boris Johnson allocating levelling up funds to the local Tory MP.

Oldham become the first ex-Premier League team to be relegated from the EFL.

We've a few years left though to become the ex-Premier League team to be relegated from the EFL the QUICKEST.

    Dear Almighty DMAC,

Look what they think of you at Peterborough, that would never happen to you here. We love you, you swear on your podcast and Twitter and support Liverpool like 50% of our season ticket holders, we would be match made in heaven.

It's time to sell Peterborough and come to us to work with your best mate Sparksy.

    Love,
    Bradford City fans xxx

Some seeming to revel in this newspaper report. Let's get our own house in order before making judgement on a owner who has given Peterborough United more success than it could ever envisage or deserve as a club. They've had a terrible season but as still start next season a division above us with a squad of players we could only dream of at this time.

Deflection tactics. Our club and fans are premier league at this stuff. Babbling on about how poorly run a club that's top end of league one and in recent times seen championship football is.

We've even got the "club representative" @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler telling us how poor 'Premier league' Leeds Uniteds training facilities are.

Meanwhile we're enduring our worst season for a decade after 5 years of year on year decline.

But yeah, we've nothing to moan about.

Its a case of nothing has changed. Posh wanted someone, ie The local council “ to invest” Gov funding (£m’s) to pay for it ! And yes rent it !

The Gov wanted the Tory MP to get re-elected……so what a better way of using levelling up funding perhaps?

In the old days they called such use of taxpayers money , corruption.?

Sound familiar except we wouldn’t get more than a few quid of levelling up funding ?

    That’s my take.

Who on here has said Posh are poorly run.

I just brought the article to attention to highlight how I've never seen an attack on a chairman from a local rag like this.

Not sure what the Posh fans think of DMac's generally running of the club.

I do suspect that there are many other clubs fans other than ourselves who criticise how their clubs are run. That's not me defending Rupp by the way as it's obvious the decline of our club since him and Rahic got their hands on us

I'm not convinced on this particular statement.
But in my world, I'll say we will remain in league 2 under the stewardship of Rupp.

It's a scathing article for a local paper.

I remember looking when they missed out on L1 promotion a few years back and occasionally pop onto the forums or twitter tags to see what fans say about the ownership. To be honest, the fans every time I've looked over the last 3 or 4 seasons have never been fully glowing about DMac. A good chunk of the fans wanted a change of the transfer policy when they were promoted and there was noise created saying that model will never keep a team up in the champ because the gulf in class is too much for their experienced players like Thompson, Beevers, Clarke-Harris etc and all were proven right in the end.

The fans wanted a proper head of recruitment, or someone with experience of building a side at this level but DMac stuck to his guns of buying young and hoping for the best. To be fair, some areas of their fanbase even when they were promoted wanted the other partners to buy out DMac and try a new approach, DMac said so himself about 6-8 weeks back on his podcast, and he said he would always offer his stake if enough want him out.

At the end of the day, he is a salesman who in the summer is incredibly positive about his business done. He sells a vision every summer and other clubs fans love the honesty approach and the optimism, as it's better than silence that most clubs show every summer. Outside fans here the noise and are amazed at the business when a player goes for 20 million, but if you scratch under the surface a little, for every Toney there are 5 or 6 Luke James types that they blow money on and release within 2 or 3 seasons, in multiple areas of the squad. Looking at their business this year, none of the lads really look to have been worth it, at you can always say they buy young and need time, but that wont keep you up and there's no guarantee L1 is going to be easy.

Not knocking his business model, there are some great benefits for a small club with it and his balls he talks with to be so confident in his approach and honest really will bring a lot of fans onside, but it's always worth remembering he is owner, chief scout, head of recruitment and that squad is built by the owner, not a manager or even a backroom recruit expert.

I'd say you're probably right. I certainly don't see us going down under Mark Hughes.

We are closer to being an Oldham or a Bury than we are a Peterborough at this moment in time although I agree with you that I don't think we'll drop that low. Saying that we don't have that far to fall as it stands. Still on course for season after season regression as it stands.

Saying that it sounds like you have no confidence in Mark Hughes and Glynn Hodges because the playing budget they will have should be more than enough to get us promoted. If the budget is good enough our promotion prospects are down to coaching and quality/attitude of players brought in, regardless of whether the owner is Stefan Rupp or Fordy.

I agree, I want Rupp out as much as anyone but as far as I can see just looking at Oldham they were probably relegated more due to the owner letting his brother play football manager like Rahic was allowed to do rather than lack of investment. Even a lack of investment at this level can still have a budget above the smaller teams in the league. It’s probably the only thing Rupp got right getting rid of Rahic as we could well have been in Oldham’s situation then.

My perception is that Rupp isn’t a footballing man(obviously) and as long as we aren’t losing him money he’s probably happy for us to plod along at this level, I suppose a drop off in season tickets would be telling, maybe a wake up call? Or maybe the death of the club who knows, for now I expect season ticket sales to go along nicely for him however. I suppose the test will be is if Hughes isn’t here in a year, will that finally turn the fan base against him. It feels like himself and Sparks are now drinking in last chance saloon. I just hope it goes well, but mid table again next season would be the most obvious guess at where we’ll finish based on recent history.

The Colchester game was interesting for me, not because of the football but the commentator radio Leeds had on. Can’t remember his name but he was a former Ipswich player, it was interesting to get an outside opinion. He had a different take on things to this that the ownership is actually important as a motivator as it feels like a project going in the right direction and attracts the right players who want to progress their career and move up, instead if you get a club where the owner has little direction or knowledge and interest in football it can often attract those just looking for a payday, let’s calm them a Theo Robinson for example.

He’s not necessarily right about everything but it was good to listen to an outside perspective and it wouldn’t be the first time if it happened that a manager that has had success elsewhere has failed here.
