MH moulding the squad to his liking will help big style. The coaching and man management seems to have moved away from the dinosaur era. Letting the defence sit closer to the keeper is also a good ploy because it stops the slow turning defence from being caught out, however I noticed yesterday our full back on the right got dragged across towards the middle several times, thus leaving a gaping hole for their wider men to run into.

FRG were far from good tbh, I DID however like their lad Reece. He had a great 90 mins, tall athletic, very mobile, and also the lad they brought on who is on loan from Leicester. Another in the same vein as Reece. I wish…….

After the introduction of Perriera, with Vernam coming back and Sparky keen on a 4-3-3 formation, the options at the sharp end of the sword start to look a lot more positive.
Maybe Tuesday but defo next week we might have some genuine pace to trouble opposition defences.
Put Walker and Cooke behind them with one of Watt or Evans holding then we could and should be looking to create a lot more.

Cooke had his best game for a while yesterday. Played with lots more freedom?

F..king to right.. I even put £5 on a 3..1 city win and still lost. Ha. I don't mind one bit! Although we're still 3 wins away from safety ;)

A strange breed footballers, although I'd think Songo coming to City he would have been on better money than he was at Morecambe.

The short time Sparkie & Hodges have been at the club and the improvement we've seen I'd be hoping for a strong finish to get those who were questioning getting a season ticket back on board.
Still some difficult games ahead but they don't come any bigger than away to the run away league leader

In fairness, we played them at the right time. They haven’t won since 8th Feb. So nice for a change that we’re the one taking advantage of poor form rather than the other way round. Hopefully we can build on this win and do something DA couldn’t manage!

I was impressed the way Songo'o'' and Paudie worked together, constantly talking and criticising and praising each other throughout the game..

From what I have read and seen they have certainly galvanised the squad and where possible have round pegs in round holes. Certainly looking forward to the next two home games as both teams we face have something to play for.

Get what your saying with there recent form but they looked bad at our place even in form ???
Which sadly shows what a missed opportunity this season has been because if Hughes had started at the start of the season we wouldn’t be messing about in midtable even with that set of players .............. we have faced Swindon top 7 Forest Green top of the league and an in form Mansfield and with better finishing we would have easily taken 6 points........... but we have seen all along how bad it is but sadly our ex dour manager couldn’t see it .......... he preferred to blame others for his shortcomings rather than looking at himself.............. I just hope we finish well the bond between the fans and players is being fixed and Hughes in a matter of 3 games has done that

No - £50 to the burns unit he is not a regular starter next year i.e. starts less than 50% of games? Care to put your money where your mouth is?

Looks like it should have been a straight red to me. Vicious lunge. How did Cook not have a coronary after having to run 70 yards ?

Their right back impressed me, Kane Wilson.

Defended well, bags of pace and constantly overlapped his wide player causing us all sorts of problems.

That's the sort of right back I'd like to see here next season.

He won't take that bet, he knows it's a loser. He'll either outright ignore it or come up with some nonsense about him being a great squad man.

I don't bet. He could get injured pre-season and be out all season.

If he's available, then I'm guessing the plays more than 50% of the matches.

I'm scratching my head wondering where on earth you get this "worst player" (or whatever tag you used) from.

Are you not aware that he's playing in a position that's not his natural one? Yet, he's still got MoM from various 'judges' T&A for the last two matches and countless other fans agreed with this. I suppose they're wrong, given you think he's one of our poorest players!!

He's hardly played in his best position for chrissakes!! And you want to do what lots of fans do to players, who come with big reputations and dare to perform indifferently at times, write them off.

No allowance for them actually only been in their natural position for about 10% of the matches. Noooooooo!! They were good elsewhere and it couldn't possibly be that they have also been mismanaged (despite been Adam's "teachers pet" as some other poster touchingly posted).

In fact I'd argue he's been mismanaged the most. Who buys a player known as one of the best CDM in L2 (two promotions in five seasons - including the most recent one) and then hardly plays him in that position? Then, in a cunning plan to compound the wrong, has to play him in central defence for the remaining virtually half of a season!!

Songo will be the type of player that both Hughes and Hodges love. Clearly, he's now revelling under the new management. Last week you'd had thought he was the one who'd spent all his career in defence. His no moaning about us not seeing him at his best, because he's hardly playing there / his 100% commitment / his bollockings he's happy to give his captain - shows a player with the type of character you need for a L2 promotion post.

So no, just because he came highly recommended by Adams, doesn't mean he should have to carry the old 'guilt by association'.

And Songo will make more errors as the season go on, as he's not really a CB. Perhaps you can understand that. Or are you one of those who, when say Bass got sent off, thinks that one of the outfield players should be able to do just as good a job, otherwise why would they be picked!!

I see you're still hooked on your "Songo'o is a terrible footballer" narrative.

The bet is indeed a "loser". A loser for all the myopic Bantams who've decided they don't like him (which can only be because he was praised so much by Adams)

So they then spend all their time pointing out his mistakes, but seem strangely myopic to the views of others or any good things he does or how poor his colleagues have been.

Hughes will have a similar view to Simon Parker this week and the judges at the match from last week, i.e. at L2 Songo is an asset not a liability.

Every team needs their no frills midfielder. We've got one, that's easily good enough for a good L2 team. We just need to use him the correct way - which Hughes will do.

I'm sure Yann will make a few more errors, from now to the end of the season, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to post more moans and have snide digs at posters that disagree with you.
