Its a dire league Kev! I wasnt impressed with FGR at Valley Parade either tbh! We’ve wasted a fantastic opportunity to go up this season.

anyway, looking at the positives tonight;

1) Pereira looked sharp despite his lack of minutes
2) good to see Cook bag, albeit it was a tap in
3) defence were solid under pressure
4) bass looked assured today
5) great to see players celebrating second with the fans
6) hughes is up and running with his first win

After being booked already for a foul in the 65' minute to then go and raise your boot so high in the 76' minute left Mr Yates little option.
Just noticed only 3,339 in attendance and we took 500 or so.

I didn't think Cook was a tap in ...he had to get his angles correct and ... score good lad ....I think he likes a snackpot and two Hofmeisteirs

Agreed. That was never a tap in. He had to run like the clappers from his own half and slot the ball in at speed from an angle whilst being closed down.

 

Great result today obviously and well deserved I'd say, the team despite their limitations have responded well to MH so far and fair play to them as all we can expect is for them to give there all and we are now seeing that under what seems so far better leadership. Happy for Cook to get his goal he deserved that, a few on here saying how he will be a squad player at best next season, well I think he will benefit from that role being able to come on last 25/30mins and go full pelt which he probably knows himself he cant do for 90mins, and tbh name a L2 team who wouldn't have an Andy Cook on there bench.

 

You have to work so much harder when you don't keep the ball. Our talented players look a lot happier

 

I think fans are starting to think watching football is also about being entertained. We moved past the Mourinho defensive football to another age

 

Re Cook being slow (as seems to be often expressed here). I could only have ever dreamt of being that slow over such a long distance. Maybe when he went to the fans he was just asking for a very large non-vegan donner.

 

A fictional relegation battle is surely not as boring as being trapped in mid-table with nothing to play for for almost half a year (August 2022)?

 

I'm one of them. He's been absolute gash since signing.

He's been OK the last couple of games but it's possibly a case of too little too late given his alleged wages

 

Definitely agree from us fans point of view it's probably too little too late, but from MH view point he's been impressive so far in his short spell and that's what he will judge on so may negotiate a realistic squad players wage for another 12month deal especially with him being a some what utility player, I'm not saying I agree with this or anything but wouldn't be surprised if this happened, and tbf if he were to keep up recent performance levels not many would mind him as a squad player on a realistic squad players wages if he carried on playing as present.

 

To be fair the lad on Quests EFL program also said he believed it should have been a straight red

 

Great performance just a shame Hughes wasn’t brought in earlier as for FGR they must be doing something right in other games because on both occasions we have played them they have looked terrible ............... I mean they are top you wouldn’t think so they way they played and the non attmosphere from the home end .......... just another IKEA built club was no soul or anything

 

FFS Worlds leakiest defence just let me down for £300! Cooke & 2-1 city. Great 3 points though.
