Suppose having MT in dugout helps the transition. MH and GH only had a few days training and they need to quickly get up to speed with whats what in this squad.

I like the fact GH has managed AFC Wimbledon and knows these lower leagues. That will stand us in good stead. Very good appointment, thinking about it.

Do you think it's finally dawning on the Ding Dong that he hasn't done enough off-the-pitch for his ENTIRE tenure as chairman?

 

In what way has he had his chance and what was it that he was being expected to achieve in that chance?

 

Do you think something is happening behind the scenes? Outside investment, takeover? Is Hughes even Rupps man, or the new owners?

can not see Rupp sanctioning it if he wasn’t in agreement and happy about it. Any ‘possible’ investment/takeover could fall apart before it is finalised leaving Rupp with the bill for Hughes

I think Hughes applied, Sparks got excited and wanted him straight away, and Rupp signed it off.

To be fair, I'd have done the same. It's Mark Hughes, he's definitely worth more of a shot than people like Steve Evans and Pete Wild, and if we were getting the cold shoulder from folk like Grant McCann and Darren Ferguson then absolutely I'd jump at the chance of appointing someone so high profile with such huge experience.

 

Surely now then he has to back Hughes to the hilt, we’re now in the spotlight with the media, this had potential to go the distance. Alternatively feed him scraps like the previous managers and we become a laughing stock. Rupp gets it in the neck & his investment goes down the drain?

 

And those managers are probably going flipping heck we have got egg on our face now.

 

Is his agreement trying to appease the unrest, look after his investment, plus build the profile to get his asking price? Yeah Hughes is a huge name but surely league 2,his salary will be quite basic, with big bucks for hitting targets?

 

I was saying it yesterday, there's really nowhere the club can go from here.

They've made this power play, and it will play out in front of the national media.

If this appointment fails, there will be more than just a few thousand folk in Bradford wondering what's wrong with the club.

Rupp, and by proxy Sparks, will be in the media spotlight from hereon in, and if Hughes were to leave within, say, a year having achieved nothing, you can imagine there will be plenty of coverage about the reasons WHY, and what's really wrong at a club that is languishing so badly at the foot of the EFL.

For Rupp's sake, in particular, this has to work - and with Sparks saying stuff like 'one of the most momentous days in HISTORY', he's obviously toast if this goes wrong - not just here, but his future in football is in jeopardy.

So yeah.

They better back him to the hilt, and keep all their fingers and toes crossed he has the ability to get everything sorted himself.
