Maybe just maybe Mr Rupp has realised that his initial investment is going nowhere fast and that without a cash injection he could finish up with nothing. our only thing of worth is our share of the football league and that looks to be in danger the way we are heading.
Hopefully the appointment of Hughes means a change in direction with squad finance. I do not think it will take that much to actually get the ball rolling and the potential return from bums on seats that come from better football , could be vast at a club like ours. playing well we can attract 20,000+ crowds.

 

He must be coming here with the promise of funds

 

Maybe that was the thinking in January, with all the short term signings.
Have a clearout in the summer and ramp up the budget.

And see if Adams could start to get a tune out of them, whilst we still had a glimpse of the playoff's. As it has proved he could not , fresh start for the new guy and a decent period to look at the current players, to see if they can lift their game.
Too many have been playing well below what they should and if they cannot raise their game for this manager, they can't for anyone.

Came out of my meeting this morning fully expecting to see an announcement about Wellens so to say this took me by surprise is an understatement!
It's either a genius move or will end in disaster, I can't quite make up my mind which. The cynic in me says it's all about season tickets and the promise of providing him with what he needs is just more hot air. The optimist in me says the penny might have finally dropped.

 

It looks that way. Can he get them the results to pull away.

 

Not sure about MH's credentials as a manager so suspect this appointment is more around his contacts in the game. Utilising these wont come cheap so maybe, just maybe, Rupp has finally realised the need to speculate to accumulate. Let's see if we get a positive reaction on Saturday

I mean, we can mock Morecambe all we want, but they sold Adams to us for a fee, they've sold Robinson to St Mirren for a fee, and now they've Adams back for free.

They're quids in and they've got back the most successful manager in the club's history.

Meanwhile, we've paid for Adams to come in and fail, we've then sacked him, now we've appointed someone who COULD be quite expensive to keep in Mark Hughes.

I'm not saying we've done anything badly, BUT, Morecambe certainly haven't embarrassed themselves.

 

I don't think he's particularly liked in the game. The feedback from former players is damning.
