BOYCOTT STARTS TOMORROW

Managers don't make as much difference as you think. There are some very good ones who can do great things, some very bad ones who can be very detrimental, but for the most part, I'd say 80% of whats produced on the pitch is down to the ability of the players. Especially at this level.

 

The only manager who would make the City fans happy in general is Pep. Beautiful football and winning every week.

You only have to remember that there were "Parky Out" threads on here every other month when things weren't perfect (often contributed heavily to by posters not a unconnected from this post) to see that some of our number are an unforgiving lot.

That's not to say Adams is the right choice but the last thing we need is having whoever is picking the manager worrying about the unachievable ideals of the fan base.

 

Parky Out threads were when he did need to go.

And he went to other clubs and they wanted him out also.

However, Parky at least connected with the fans. Never dug us out.

Adams attacks the fans and is a worse fit now than Steve Evans

 

So it IS our fault after all. We want to be in League 1 maybe the Championship at a stretch. Looks like we all need to feck off and let the club succeed without us.

Luckily DA is doing a good job in helping us to make that decision.

However of what I'm hearing is "Morecambe can get promoted a certain way but we're more demanding than that" then that's sounds like the fan base makes it more difficult rather than less?

 

I think most would accept the style of play if we got promoted.

I think what the fans are currently showing is they can't accept the style of play and 2 home wins since August.

 

And I 100% agree with that.

 

Stuart would guarantee us good football, but I don't think anyone would want him back again.

Good football isn't that important, it's all about winning games.

If the style's not the best then we need to win.

As you'll note, the above was all Stuart's fault, and getting rid of him fixed that.

Yup, that's the point. If you are a manager who sets your team up to play exceptionally dull football then you had better be good at it. Fans will cut mangers some slack if they play negative football but win matches as, at certain times, Parky did. Fans will have some patience with managers who play entertaining, progressive football, even if it's not immediately successful.
But fans have a very short tolerance of managers who deliver negative and losing football. That is particularly so if the manager in question is dour and charmless; throws certain players under the bus whilst having obvious favourites who are seemingly immune from criticism; refuses to accept any responsibility for poor recruitment and tactical errors, and then blames the fans for being unable to happily sit and watch the same directionless drek week after week, having been promised a lower league expert who will swiftly deliver automatic promotion.

 

But awful football and not winning games is the worst of all worlds.

 

Can’t believe we haven’t managed back to back wins since August. That’s terrible.

Don’t worry though, if we sack him we won’t find anyone better, eh. Jeez.

 

Don’t turn up tomorrow. A sub-5k crowd for a Yorkshire derby in the league will speak huge volumes.
