Abbott identified a striker playing in the Dutch league - name escapee me - Rahic rejected him and he went on to a very successful campaign and has been transferred for a fee to a club in the top Dutch division. So this shows we do identify players in other leagues. We have yet to see a player we can afford - who strengthens the first team squad that has come from the German contacts - i would suggest this needs to be reviewed -and we spend the budget elsewhere if this window shows no sign of improvement.

 

Chuks Aneke, the MK Dons striker? (Only remembered the name as he’s been mentioned in another thread)

 

I remember him running us ragged when he was on loan at Crewe from Arsenal I think. I thought he was going to go on to great things but doesn’t seem to have kicked on

We would still have the likes of Robinson, Gibson, McCartan, Seedorf to come on and change the shape of the team.

 

Even as things stand we are going to have some good team selection dilemmas next season

 

Dont forget NKP, Vincelot, and Chicksen and all of a sudden thats not bad. Doesnt scream title winners but ill bet any of the nay sayers we wont be anywhere near relegation

 

This signing sounds better than the no hopers who wore claret and amber in January and February.

Pleased with this signing. We definitely needed a combative type midfield player and this lad has quite a decent pedigree

Mcgowan will be like a new signing, Jones too and reeves to some extent. Plus we seem to have added some steel.

 

Nice and solid look to the spine of the team now with a bit of competition starting to develop. Definitely not going to be a team full of weakling kids that's for sure.

Need more quality in the attacking areas now but still a month to get that together.

 

Except Burton, who offered him a contract, but yer, let's not let the facts get in the way....
