Let’s put the who is to blame argument to bed once and for all. It is not Adams and it is not Sparks. Rupp has tried to do everything on the cheap and those below him can only work with the investment they have been provided with. So come on Rupp, either invest properly or ship out ASAP. Adams needs time as changing Manager again destabilises things even more. Crewe punched above their weight for years because they kept the same manager in place for years. We are all entitled to our opinions on who is at fault but time to realise the facts - it’s Rupp and Rupp alone

 

Exactly how does Rupp put more money in with FFP in place. It's not possible to just gift the club money.

 

I dont think a lack of money is the reason we need him out. He’s given us competitive budgets.

The situation is a bit like an absent father who offers no support to his kids other than buying them an expensive birthday present once a year. The kids need support and guidance all the time, not just someone signing off cheques once a year.

The end result is what we saw with Adams - criticism over the lack of support from those above.

Yes, other clubs gave absent owners, but they appoint an experienced CEO to run the show. We appointed a guy who has no CEO experience because he was cheap.

I don’t know Sparks, he might have qualities to succeed one day, but who is his mentor? Who does he turn to for advice? Darragh on the podcast?

 

Are we at the maximum on FFP? Or is that just an excuse peddled by the club to temper criticism?

 

He could try off field investment, such as improved scouting and coaching. Maybe even hot water in the toilets and hand dryers that the club don’t have to beg for. Instead of new seats coming out of the budget he could pay for them, or not take £300k a year out without actually doing anything. FFP only effects playing budgets, there are plenty of other areas to improve the club that cost money that he could do to grow the club into something resembling a respectable business.

All that’s even if we have maxed out on FFP which I haven’t seen any evidence we have.
