    I dont get the criticism. We were dire in that second half and he only got 20 minutes (in which the side was gash). He got no proper service. Seemed to win three or four flick ons. I remember him chasing a ball that ended up in the Kop/Ciba corner that he kept alive, but he didn’t get any chances on a plate.

    can’t have helped him build up any momentum having the long stoppage after the fan in the crowd was taken ill.

    why do fans post such nonsense at times? Give him a chance and get behind him.

    Anyone seen Elliot win a header or hold the ball up yet?

    Asking for a friend.

    He won as many headers in 10 mins that Cook won all game. Zero. But he ran around faster than Cook.

    You mean like the header he won in the build up to the goal? He's thrown on to be a nuisance in a team that abandons any attempt at anything that could be described as tactics other than lumping it forward and does that to an extent. I actually think the way we play, he'd suit the lone striker role better than Cook but that says more about the way we play than his all round quality.

    He has better movement than the sluggish cook and is taller and faster .

    So, so far we've got;

    He's a nuisance.
    He's faster than Cook.
    He's taller than Cook (because that's actually an attribute we measure now?)

    It's looking like a strong list. Almost Hanson-esque in it's appearance.

    He literally headed the ball to Watt for the goal.....

    I think the plan when you chuck him on is to go a little longer with the passing. Due to his size and a bit of speed for a bloke his build, the defence tends to double up on that long ball. The hope will be he can still win the ball or cause enough problems that those doubling up will have left space for a player to fill and attack the second phase..... we just need to stop having the most static attacking midfielders on the planet when Vernam isn't playing.

    It's what you do when all else fails and every other option has gone. Lumping the ball into the box from anywhere on the park. Welcome to Bradford City 2022.

    The sad thing is that lumping the ball into the box at the end was the most exciting part of the night. Not that it was exciting but at least it created a couple of half chances, which was a couple more than had occurred up to that point.
