I respect your take on things but for me the straight talking and honesty promised by Sparks and Adams has just become one massive lie, contradiction and disappointment after another.
And sadly no sign of any positivity from Rupp since he sprung out of the woodwork a few weeks ago

Adams said there would be players leaving, that's a fact. So far the only one out the door is Sikora. Hardly the clear out I think some of us were expecting.

We've had an awful window. We needed 7 players who could replace hornby/ od, Threlkeld, canavan, watt, angol (when injured), eisa and gilliead. Plus another back up striker to be able to bin off both Robinson & Lavery.

So far we have the keeper and walker. Jury is out on Daly and the other guy is missing, not even missing in action.

We have a week to sign a full back, a dominant centre half, a holding midfield player and a striker.

If that's being prepared then God help us.

Did he not bank a fee for Crankshaw that he informed the fans - would be available for a January signing?

Loans don't build for next season, and as far as I can see this season is finished.

What's the point in loans when you have nothing to play for apart from the manager keeping his job.

Loans give you a chance this season, knowing that there is no long term commitment from the club. In the summer Adams will have a clear out and free up a lot of budget when ROD, Evans, Lavery, Robinson, Canavan etc leave the club.
If we're still in this position entering 2023 then Adams time will be up. There'll be no excuses left.

He did Briggus but as we know we shouldn't believe most of the promises the club makes - I honestly believe Adams says the first thing that comes into his head hence the number of contradictions

Well it's looking like the most pressing position that was needed as we entered January, a striker, as we all thought will come down to a last minute signing next Monday night of an ageing journeyman or a kid on loan.

Now that Angol is knackered again, we surely need 2.

It’s a gamble to bring in a few to try and change things round no way would we have been able to bring in Walker other than loan.

You aren’t wrong, who can remember Rhodes in the T & A saying use it or lose it about the club? That resulted in cheap tickets which got bums on seats. But there is a lack of interest in football for a city this size, the majority or the fan base live absolutely nowhere near the stadium, the cities demographic changes more and more by the year and the new locals just aren’t interested. Unless we find a way to get the local southern Asian and Eastern European’s interested in the club then eventually the fan base will likely continue to dwindle, it’s not all on Rupp tbf like I say that article was 15 years ago this has been coming, cheap tickets and a bit of success has helped but the success has gone and the tickets are back on the rise. If we don’t get out of this league soon it’ll be via the wrong exit then it’s game over.

Unfortunately, when the players mainly get 2 year deals, you are stuck with them for 2 years!
Hence, despite all the frustration, Adams does need 3-4 transfer windows.

It took Parky a year to get Meredith, Darby, McCardle, Jones etc in place.
Parky had a very good budget and clearly Adams isn't going to get the same.

Regarding players leaving. I can't remember a time in my 45+ years of supporting the club where I've felt less affection for the players and how I'd feel if any one of them left in this window. The spectrum of my emotions would be a shrug at one extreme and a minor celebration at the other. The same can be said for those that are running the club. I've never been this apathetic before.

The lad from Luton has been recovering from Covid and yes he doesn’t walk into the team over the like of Vernam. He’s a Squad filler, an option. Walker has played 2 games and it was Dalys debut in a new team, new system etc. how about giving them a few games?
The keeper is probably an upgrade on what we have but time will tell. We all wanted the goalkeeper addressing and it has been…
Do you think Admas is sitting on his hands and not signing players on purpose? He’s not a stupid man is he.. he knows what we need and will be working hard to find someone I’ve no doubt about that. January is a very difficult window and clubs are financially knackered.
As for moving players on… we can only do that if clubs come in for them.
This isn’t football manager. The team is stronger with Daly, Walker and the Gk. That’s nearly a 3rd of the starting 11.
Im not happy with the season but I certainly don’t think we’ve had an awful window.

Yes but as someone posted earlier look what players we are left with still in contract. I certainly would not want them in my 2022/23 squad.

So invest in the team with a small chance of making the playoffs?
Get some loans in, keep the money in the bank, less restrictions with Covid maybe and see how these guys do. Offload the garbage and go again next season.
I remember years ago a similar thing happened windass and Johnson left. No strikers of any note. We won’t get relegated. Money in the bank, less debt. That ended well.
When Yorath was in charge and Hunter RIP my bro asked at the fans forum. Can you hand on heart say that we definitely won’t be relegated. That too ended well. Spent some cash that season!!! So it’s the City roller coaster typically ends pants but I’ve far more laughs watching this team than my mates watching the clubs round here. Brought my Wolves mate ….the atmosphere fantastic he said. I said which players stand out or look crap. He failed to be positive about any of them but said the fans were brilliant!!! Seems we are very much sold a yarn each year!!

We didn’t need squad fillers, we need quality to add to the starting XI.

Those in contract next season who could be good enough to get us promoted -
    Ridehalgh (POTY in my opinion)
    Cook (15 goals a season)
    Hornby (2nd choice)
    Staunton (squad member)
    FCD (squad member)

These look like mistakes already -
    Threlkeld
    Songo'o
    Eisa
    Gilliead
    Kelleher

Turnbull did an excellent job, last January, in moving players on. It's not an impossible task.
