You’re right, bottles and other things thrown. Very poor stewarding and we got in bother with the FA but recall a warning. This might be affecting the Dale view on numbers as I’m sure it’s usually 3500 or thereabouts.

They give us the extra 1k or so then will easily have more than them ............if we have nearly sold out our first allocation by today then I can see a fair few taking up the next batch on Thursday / Friday ............. still it’s depressing isn’t it that we will probably have more away fans than some of our fellow competitors can muster at home ................. just wish our owner would come to realise what the hell this club means to us ........ 11th in League two and we are more than likely gonna be taking 3k to an away game .......... how many clubs within the bottom two division could must that support on the back of 4 years of dross ...........not many I bet

It wasn’t, but a flare (or smokebomb whatever they are) hit my daughter, probably aged six/seven at the time. Upset her, ruined her clothes etc…..
Moved away and left early and spoke to the police outside who basically said they were unaware of the level of problems and stewards and reported they were not in need of support from the police inside.
Both sets of fans were moronic, not helped by the stewards allowing home fans to throw things at the City fans which obviously escalated quickly.

Yes I remember the smoke bombs. As you faced the pitch, they were to the right side. We moved ends. I thought there were police in the ground? Unfortunately I cannot get to the game on Saturday, as it is one that I usually go to.

These were actually on the left side of the stand (as you look at the pitch).
Unfortunately it didn’t put the kids off for life and I still have to watch City every week ☹️

I think they went off at both ends in different half’s. People were coughing a lot, sure it must be the equivalent of breathing in all sorts of noxious poisons like, zinc chloride, zinc oxide, hexachloroethane and other chemical ingredients! I usually try to go closer to the corners as those who want to stand, tend to go in the centre of the stand, apart from a few ‘interesting groups’, who go as close to the opposition fans as possible and try to be provocative.

The one on the right hand side was let off inside the concourse if it's the same game.

I am fairly sure that at least one was thrown towards the home fans section, in the Sandy Lane stand (west side of the ground).

I actually think the one that hit us was thrown from our end and lobbed back.
We do have a seemingly high percentage of knobhead fans at away games.

Thinking of getting the train over and see it's about a 40 minute walk to Spotland from the station... is it worth getting there a couple of hours early and going to a couple of pubs on the way or just get straight up to the ground?

One in Rochdale ideally not too far from the ground ?

Is this your first ever away game.

If you are getting the Train and walking you will go through Rochdale Town centre. What do you want from the pub? Bouncing/quiet/nearest/cheapest/chain?
