Port Vales business wouldn’t have been good for us imo, but it’s good for them and that’s a credit to them. They’ve brought in players that won’t walk into their first 11 but who’ll supplement their squad to make sure they aren’t left short in the final run in. What any well run side is doing tbh and what you can do when in the promotion mix, sadly we need players who’ll come straight in and improve our first 11 which unless you pick up a gem lower down and pay like we did with Wyke it’s a terrible time to improve your first 11 and needs money chucking at it like Bolton did on wages last season, they’ve still not gone out of business funny enough…

As for Ryan Loft, nothing special but we’re league 2 and need an understudy to Cook he’d have more than been up for that role I’d have taken him.

As Derek Adams has said, no one is promoted In January. Let’s at least see what business is done during the window and how it affects results.

Hopefully the extra competition will focus minds on the players already here and contribute to better results and if as reported we are in for 4or 5 signings this window the wage bill will rise significantly

Let's get real. Whoever he signs are we really going to pick up at least 42 points from 23 games to get in the playoffs ? To do that we need to win at least double the games won in the first half of the season. Not gonna happen.

When was the last time a 'big club' went bust?

It's not lucky, it's just evidence there are investors that WILL step in. You have consistently tried to deny that by asking 'who', which is always an irrelevant question.

Bolton haven't go out of business. Coventry didn't go out of business. Blackpool didn't go out of business.

The clubs that go out of business are little clubs with no history of success and no realistic chance of surviving at, say, Championship level. No chance of getting to the Premier League.

    Bury, Macclesfield, Chester.

We're not in that bracket, neither are Bolton.

Clubs this big don't just go out of business because there's money to be made with far less investment.

Trust me we were on the very brink the last time being at the creditors meeting myself. And the big issue is if it happens again is demotion or big points deduction which would make this club untenable.
I never said there wouldn’t be people willing to buy the club what I said was anybody who does will run it on exactly the same financial lines after all the alternative to the dirty word sustainable is unsustainable

You can be £50 million in debt and still be sustainable. It doesn't mean we have to balance the books every season.

Wednesday and Leeds have both suffered big points deductions but both are realistic gambles for anyone interested in the Premier League dream that entices investors to the EFL.

Sustainability based solely on current income streams, sure, that's what we have. To try to increase that income through more creative means, well... That has scared plenty of our fanbase already.

Success brings in money and the more success the more money it brings in, Not investing means stagnation and staying where we are or worse, In business you either invest and keep up or get left behind and close

Totally agree add Wigan and Derby to the minutes from going bust list, it simply doesn’t happen regardless of the scare stories. Like with ourselves in the 00’s at worse a local business man with step in and buy it for a quid, take a few points deductions as they did and wipe the slate clean. Luton also did the same in that decade.

Let me make it simpler, you don't have to be debt free to be sustainable.

Problem is IB some on here are fixated with Morecambe and them going up with the lowest budget. By this analogy Man City should spend half of what they are doing.

I am certainly not against spending money l would love a football loving benefactor willing to put money in in but it never happens in this city and club there are people out there who would like to own this club and probably do a better job but it will be on making ends meet basis
