I’ve never seen Walker play so I have no idea.

 

What are you basing it on? Hearts fans are complimentary about him as he’s a fan who scored goals when he was younger. Most agree with him leaving as in their words his knees and athleticism have gone as has his work rate and pace.
I think the best bits of business are Ryan Loft to Bristol Rovers and Chris Hussey to Port Vale.

 

Well his manager wanted to keep him to play at a level higher than ours he is only 28. Never been impressed with Loft

 

He scored 8 goals last season, I wouldn't say that implied he only scored 'when he was younger'.

8 goals would have made him our joint top scorer last season...

Also, it's crazy how many ex-Scunthorpe players get touted for us on this thread, when the fact we're full of ex-Scunthorpe players is a running joke at the moment...

Ryan Loft, and someone suggested we sign Mark Howard, their goalkeeper, I've even heard Alfie Beestin mentioned... Tell you what, no thanks, Gilliead, Eisa and Sutton will do now that Novak has retired.

I completely agree but my point is that is there much of the budget left? Evans will be happy picking up 3k a week from now till June. He’s not been playing anyway and he can walk away in the summer with a healthy bank balance.
It won’t be easy moving on some of the players who are on the fringe and if like you say we are paying them good money and most are out of contract in the summer then unless someone comes and offers them 18 months - 2 year contract then they can sit tight.
I’m not sure how the budgets all work now or where we are at with registered players and how many spaces we have but I’d imagine the budget has been set for the season and if that’s been spent then that’s that.
I’d be interested to know the terms of Walkers loan agreement as I don’t think he’d have been cheap on wages and I don’t think for a minute that Hearts will be footing the bill. Not all of it anyway.

Hes been at a very poor Scunthorpe for a couple of years and only 24x Every time I’ve seen him he looks a handful on and off the ball. Think he’s a decent player at this level.

 

He is one of the reasons they have been poor

You’re right. That’s exactly the reason. I’m sure Joey Barton and Rovers who paid a fee for him fully agree.

 

Eisa scored as many goals as him last season as a midfielder

 

Eisa has been really unlucky to be fair to him. He’s a good player but has had some rotten luck this season.

 

we signed two better player from their team last season and last ok how that’s turned out

 

He is a good player (he was really good first time he was with Hearts), key will be how fit and hungry he still is.
Lets be honest, we would never have got him in his prime! He has always had an eye for goal and clever movement around the box - should be a good watch
