I think he's just a big, tall journeyman.

We could do worse, we could do better - but we definitely need someone up top who can put a shift in, has a bit of physicality, and knows where the net is.

 

Tranmere also linked with another striker Kane Hemmings, after his proposed move to Salford hit a snag.

 

Wouldn't mind us going in for Callum Roberts, who is another player from non league who won't be allowed to move to one of the NLP 'big boys'.

Chesterfield lodged an offer, but Notts County have said he will not be available 'at any price' to move to an NLP rival - but according to Hartlepool manager and ex-City man Graeme Lee, he has been made available to EFL clubs.

He's got 5 goals so far this season and is one of three players that are seen as pivotal for Notts this season - Ruben Rodrigues and goalscorer Kyle Wootton are the others.

Given the speculation surrounding him, I doubt he'd cost too much and I doubt he'd be going much higher. Exactly the sort of gamble I'd like to see us take. Like Crankshaw, players like this tend to have resale value even if they're not doing particularly well at their current club... I'm sure we could sell him back to the NLP if it didn't work out.

Not sure if we were linked, but people were certainly suggesting on here that he was one we should be looking at.

 

Three quarters of the players ,that are linked with city are made up or just guesswork .

 

I'd say now's the time, given he's actually fulfilling his potential and is ready for that step up in competition.

Again though, we'd need to get shut of someone like Gareth Evans who brings very little to the squad.

Realistically, we probably need 6 or 7 in by the end of the window. About to be 2 in with Walker, another rumored in the Palace young midfielder. Still a glaring need for a right back and a forward, I just hope we can get some of the dross out the door and we dont use the lack of anyone taking an Evans, Lavery or Robinson type as an excuse to not bring in for other areas.

Think before the window, RB and ST were probably the two obvious slots we needed depth and other than the talk of a potential release clause for the Darlington lad, we've not really had any other links or chatter around the biggest holes we need filling.

 

I’d like to see us bring a target man type player in, I know Cook isn’t an out and out traditional target man but he’s our only ‘big man’. Angol plays far better when Cook plays and goes missing as soon as he goes off. With Adams’ style I think it’s critical we have a couple of options up top, Cook seems to be breaking down atm.

 

RB, ST, CB and Keeper are all must haves. So is a dominant midfielder. We'll be lucky to get one, with any degree of quality.

 

Good call. And takes the pressure off Cook to rush back.

 

The Palace youngster makes no sense to me. We all know Adams doesn't like playing the kids. Maybe he'll just get 5 or 10 minutes here or there?
