Deary me, here's a jobsworth forum specially for bad referees to justify bad decisions.

For what it's worth. Having a brief look through the none league transfer records for disclosed fees and ive got down to 45K in fees and nobody has ever paid over 45K for a Tier 6 player.

So this "clause" might not be far off. Worth remembering a lot of the clubs at that level are semi pro, 40K for a player is like winning the lottery to them.

 

Proof, not that any was needed, you'd argue black was white so long as it meant you got to be negative about the club

 

Why would it not be enough if that bid triggered a clause to speak with Charman?. Another club could offer £100k, but same result, it would give them the permission to speak with him.

If it was a release clause then it would have read 41k bid accepted.

They have signed a forward on loan already, but given his suspension there's no reason to keep him at the club.

Surely it's more likely Evans would be the player we'd shop out rather than Vernam? Jamie Walker will play any of the 3 roles behind Cook. If it comes off... Pereira, Walker, Cooke, Vernam, Gilliead and Evans. Angol has been shifting on the left too and i think he's pretty much given up on an Eisa run in the team this season.

Of the names, it's probably between Evans and Vernam who'd be the missing man, i know which i'd want out. But with the fitness records of all our attacking mids/wingers this season, I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to keep all. Vernam has been too inconsistent this season with form and fitness, might not be someone DA trusts too much.

If there's a clause it doesn't matter if another club bid more, they still have to accept the original bid as well (and so it's very unlikely anyone would then choose to bid more)
