I believe we have a forward in Angol who could be playing higher if only he could overcome his injuries.

had him and Cook been fit all season then we would be sat in a play off spot ......... the thing is we just cannot rely on them and with what’s in behind them then you can see what the issue is ...........

5 goals in 8 league starts with a disrupted start to his City career is very impressive.

Not many clubs at this level can afford 4 front line strikers, Cook and Angol are probably as good as any pairing in the division, unfortunately the latter has his injury problems and the back up is where we miss out, especially as Cook picked up an injury at the same time,
It is with an up and coming strlker from the lower leagues or a youngster on loan from higher up where i think we might sign a forward. Can not see anyone decent coming in to play second fiddle to the first two .

Probably why if there is any truth in it the Lad from Darlington could be a good fit

Because coming from that level he won’t expect a starting place until he earns it

That’s 100% why we need to get this transfer window right.
The chances of Angol not picking up at least one more injury before May are very slim.
Unfortunately when you acquire players with his sort of injury record that’s the gamble you take.

We shouldn’t be signing anyone who isn’t able, and expects to start games. We have to strengthen the first 11 if we’re going to rescue this season.

I'm happy watching players week in week out from Hereford, Tooting & Mitcham and Radcliffe Borough

That would be ideal, but who do you bench , leading scorers Cook or Angol with his 5 goals in 8 league games.
We would also need to shift on Robinson and Lavery, not easy i think.

    He will!

We’re shite! Any player joining us should be expecting to start and if they are not then we shouldn’t be signing them because we are not good.

I wouldn’t worry about it and I wouldn’t think about it in those terms. Firstly, they both miss plenty of games. My point really, is that we should only be signing players we believe are better than what we have as regular starters.

Bench whoever isn't playing as well as they can and keep doing that til the season ends, keep the players on their toes. Besides, Angol's only a few games away from his hamstring going again and we need to hope Cook has recovered correctly, we don't have a particularly good record in that regard, so it would probably be a moot point as to who to bench. Need at least one more striker who is able to compete at the top end of the league to ensure we have enough to cover for injuries

As i said ,ideal, just can not see it happening. We can hope though and at least it gives us something to think about until the window closes.

Frankly, if the club aren’t able to recruit better players than the ones who’ve taken this team to the lofty heights of mid table league 2, then we should all pack up and go home.

There were times on Saturday when he wouldn't stretch for balls that other strikers would, he's clearly got it in the back of his mind that the injury could easily come back.

Adams has arleady been quoted as saying we don't have that player with a bit of magic to win games. Funny how one win against quite poor opposition and suddenly our squad is alright again.

We deffo need another striker in and one that is actually gonna do something we lose either forward then sadly that’s us done for the season because frankly Robinson and Lavery are just not up to it

To put it bluntly, we have to score more goals than we have done. We have to convert draws into wins to have any chance of becoming promotion contenders. I have a lot of time for Cook and Angol as a striking pair ... but I doubt we can rely on both of them to go uninjured for the remainder of the season. It's not going to happen.

A third striker of a similar calibre is going to be a necessity since it's clear that neither can play a lone striker role and using either Lavary or Robinson as a replacement just doesn't cut the mustard. Promotion is still an outside chance but certainly won't be helped by continuing to rely solely on Cook and Angol as our primary strikers. It's time for Rupp to help make that happen.
