These are very uncertain times. To ‘finish’ the season as it was at the time football was suspended, the EFL could refuse to accept any further registrations until the season completed. So a player could go to another team, but not play for them ‘this season’.

He can not play for anyone else this season, doesn’t matter when it actually finishes

Going to Bolton on a three year deal.

Swindon couldn't get anywhere close to what Bolton offered him.

£4K pw apparently. Sarcevic from Plymouth next on similar.

You’re going to have fun with their fans - they’ve already won the league, so they say.

Hope they’ve got the Bradford Doyle and not the Swindon version.

Nobody could ruin a sriker like us, we have pevious for it. That said, i think Swindon got the best out of him. 3 year contract for a 33 year old on 4k a week, looks like Bolton haven't learnt a thing while dropping down the leagues like a flushed turd.

Yes got to agree Swindon got the best out of Doyle having said that playing up front on his own at city didn’t help, looking back though he didn’t give 90min at city, good luck to him he has got the best deal for himself and his family.

Yeah, don’t blame him at all. Maybe the motivation isn’t as great now he has the comfort of a good final contract. If hadn’t performed so well for us he’d be scrabbling round like hundreds of other OOC players.

Time will tell, but letting a rookie manager have the responsibility for the biggest budget in the league brings immediate pressure.

Mansfield last season springs to mind.

He was never signing for Swindon full time...Never. He was always leaving Swindon at the end of the season.

He did his job though and got you up.

I struggle to see how Bolton can pay him £4K per week. The total is a staggering £208K per annum. If clubs have to manage with a salary budget of £1.5M per annum, then 7 players on a comparable salary would cost £1.456M per annum! Presumably there would be appearance/goal/assist/win bonuses for the player.

It is utter madness like this, which brings the game into disrepute. This is more extreme than the Bury model. Far from me wishing any club to go out of business, but it is these sorts of figures, in a world where thousands are being made redundant, which has a fetid smell similar to that arising from financial folly.

He's on around the same as James Vaughan. Did you cast similar doubts on our club when he signed? Or is it only because of the corona virus effect you've decided football is now immoral?

A few clubs are making signings now on the assumption that any cap that may come in will not be retrospective. The majority of us are waiting until the last minute to save on wages.

As much as we all want our clubs to do well next season maybe we should all be focussed on actually surviving this crisis and having a club to support in the future.

    I doubt he's on 4k per week.

It's Swindon fans making excuses on why they didn't sign him. He was never ever, ever signing for Swindon.

This is from Doyle a while ago

Everything quoted from the Strawberry Blonde one's mouth was about earning as much as possible/getting a final payday/focussing on the business and moving back to Ireland as soon as practicable. I’d have took an offer from Mudchester Rovers if the price was right.’

That’s why he’s gone. And fair enough. Who wouldn’t do the same?

Apparently Eoin Doyle has suffered pretty badly with Covid and it's affected his performance this season (https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/evatt-bolton-rotherham-doyle-transfer-22623615).

Also, word is he's going back to the Republic of Ireland to sign for Saint Pats (https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/arid-40775631.html).

Great run in England, if not at Bradford City, and yet another player that outlines that Republic of Ireland is a hotbed of talent and always worth scouting.
