Its reasonable to assume that a lack of fitness and sharpness would have been an issue today. Not just for those who've had covid, but a lack of games for 3 weeks and by all accounts, very little training, were always going to bite.

Doesn't detract from your point about the common tactical approach we seem to deploy when we're leading though.

Giving away the goal so quickly after we scored was a problem. If we'd stayed at 2-0 for longer, I think the game would have petered out more comfortably.

Without doubt them getting back into the game 3 minutes after of us going 2 - 0 up had a big influence on the game, but then they had nothing to lose by throwing the kitchen sink at us, both teams were poor first half, but even as poor as we were we looked the most likely to score.

Of course you don't want to talk about Covid. Clearly it's not occurred to you that all sportsmen are often affected weeks afterwards - so it won't be relative to you.

Blimey what a great result today considering half the team were not match fit.

We should beat them with 11 not fit!

I don't think anyone who saw todays performance could say it was anything but a poor performance, but when you listen to Adams comments with regards the squad and where we were on Wednesday lets give the players a break, we all know football can be very fickle when it comes down to results and how teams got them, then again some will say any excuse.

Totally agree. We shouldn't even need 11 to beat them. Just the kit man with the beard, the tea boy, Andy K jumping up and down in the centre circle, and Del Boy playing in nets with one hand tied behind his back. That should clearly have been enough. They're Barrow and we are Bradford City FC, by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.

Now back in the real world.

    You're very presumptive. And wrong.

The point I'm making (which is being utterly lost and overlooked by you because seemingly you can only focus on one thing at a time) is about our poor tactics and formation.

Good 3 points. Average at best performance.
Lucky to not concede what appeared to be a good 2nd goal for them. Why we don’t appear to be able to block crosses in the first place I don’t know. Many examples of this. Poor effort / half arsed attempts to block crosses by Cooke gilleard and threlkeld in particular could have lead to goals. TBH I thought we were lucky today against a poor team. city need a good window and major improvement in the second half of this season. Otherwise it’s another abject failure to deliver on promises made to the fans at the start of the season. Ie promotion. It’s wearing thin. Many long standing supporters are in two minds for next season and despite what he keeps saying Adams results and football have fallen well short this season.

    Spot on, Bronco.
    A win is a win.
The lads were blowing out of their ar**s during the last few minutes, but they stuck at it.
A clean sheet for Hornby as well.

I would have liked to have seen Vernam coming on for Angol instead of Robinson though Dave.
For me Robinson offers nothing up front (as he proved today - lazy movement for a needless offside too).
At least Vernam would have offered pace to their defence and given them something to think about.

    Our first win since October.

I couldn't give a crap how good we looked, how well we played, how fit we were, we NEEDED THAT WIN! And we got it.

If there's one obvious bit of data to analyse, it's that without both Angol AND Cook, that would probably have been yet another 1-1.

We draw 1-1 all the bloody time, but today we were finally able to field the two forwards most of us have known we've needed to keep fit all season, and it was the difference.

What does that mean for January? It means we need to make sure we use this transfer window to ensure we NEVER AGAIN play a strike force weaker than Cook + Angol. It's the minimum we need. If we sign one striker or two, they have to be at least as good as them two if we're to have any chance of turning this season around.

    And that's just a start.

No excuses, Adams. No excuses, Sparks. No excuses, Rupp. Fail, and you'll swiftly lose support.

I'd have liked to seen Vernam during the 90 minutes but I think Adams thinking with regards Robo was balls played up to him might stick better than Vernam.
