same as what happens every year somebody knows someone who saw someone shopping at Tesco above VP and there gonna pump millions into us because they bought Pepsi Cola instead of Tesco’s own brand

honestly 99% of the time nobody has a clue about any takeover till it’s done and dusted

think the latest takeover offer was nothing more than a publicity stunt to get some attention

 

In a nutshell Kevin, we've thankfully dodged a bullet

 

And opted instead for a slower death of starvation.

 

For me if Rupp truly means any of the ‘proud custodian’, ‘people of Bradford deserve better’, ‘righting the wrongs’ statements or however I have paraphrased them, he has to show some commitment and money in January and the summer. If he doesn’t, I think we’ll see STs fall away year on year and the long slow death will come. The one small comfort is Oldham could beat us to the first ex PL club to fall out of the FL headlines.

 

Would you seriously have been happy with those Cryptocurrency geeks taking over our club. Even mighty Stevenage saw through them and sent them packing.

It's ironic that Rupp gets blasted for not particularly being a football fan, yet some would have been happy to let a load of Internet geeks who know as little about 'soccer' as Rupp does, takeover our beloved club.

Now, I'm all in favour of a takeover, but please let it be someone with our best interests at heart and a knowledge of our beautiful game at all levels, and someone who can be bothered to research our heritage and everything about us currently

 

....or pots of money to employ analysts, data collectors, fitness coaches etc etc. Personally I don't care who owns the club, as long as build up a network of employees who know football.

Rupp is making a rod for his back. He's setting himself up for a massive fall if he doesn't produce the goods next month.

 

Truth is nobody knows. Wagamama United could have brilliant, simply indifferent or Rahic. Five and half years ago not many would have predicted mid table malaise in league two.

If they provided money and let the CEO do what he’s doing now and a football director to get on with it on the field then it can’t have been worse than it is now can it?

Whatever they do at Sutton or wherever, we’ll never know how good or bad it would have been at City.

 

We need a solid Huw Jenkins type owner in my opinion rather than being at the mercy of an experiment.

 

Rahic was a former player and very much a 'football man', the problem is he was a pretender who thought he knew best. His performance at Bradford City was the worst of any individual in living memory as far as I'm concerned.

I would back any number of people to do a better job than Rahic even without a strong understanding of the game because they'd be able to do what Rahic could not, and that's seek out advise and listen to others.

 

It’s largely irrelevant now, but let’s say the crypto guys had taken over, left Ryan to get on with what he’s doing now, generating more money for the club, and they had supplemented that with their money made from the NFTs and what have you, would that have been a massive gamble? For sure if they stopped all the ‘normal’ commercial stuff it would have been, but why would they have done that?

So I’m not sure if it was a massive experiment, it possibly was, but the steady away Rupp hasn’t been a great owner of City in my opinion if you look at the league position now and when he arrived.

I’m firmly in the Rupp out camp and not that bothered if it’s Huw Jenkins, Huw Edwards or Huw Gray builders merchants in Keighley who come in next, but I do think some of the reaction to Wagmi was vastly over the top and poorly thought through. I’m not sure whether they would have been any good, but some of the reaction seemed to me to be born out of a fear of the unknown and something new and perhaps misunderstood.

For the record I don’t have more than a basic idea about crypto and NFTs so I’m not knocking those who don’t.

 

Wouldn't it be an interesting twist to the tale if Stefan Rupp now hired someone to take charge on Bradford City-based NFT's and started securing investment that way....

Now that he's got this 'dangerous' idea, why not go for it?

Maybe it would have gone ok but this is Bradford City you can put money on that we will find a way or some loon will come along and bodge it up ..........Richmond don’t get me wrong got us to the PL well his managers did but his ego basically bodged all that hard work up the same with Rahic a club that was a solid league 1 side but yet a man with a ego decided he knew better ................. now imagine if both had let football men get on with there jobs ( Jewell and Parky ) I doubt we would be in this mess now

it sadly is the Bradford city way to make a complete mess out of a good situation.

Me personally I’m glad it ain’t happen would rather a person would take it in who cares about the club who is on board with the fans not a bunch who would no doubt just wash there hands of us should it go wrong

let’s not forget this club has been around for 118 years ?????? Do you really wanna risk all that on people who in a nutshell ain’t got a clue what we are all about ????

 

I'd been thinking much the same thing myself and potentially worth a question at the upcoming fan forum?

I'm not wholly sold on the ethical side of NFT in football but I'd be interested to see how the financial side of things looked.
